Oh and I think I have start of AF which is good pretty much 1 month later, it's a bit brown no bright red. But it looks like it's a go

So I'm confused!! I bought cheapy tests off the internet and was unsure whether I was weeing on the right bit so decided to dip instead. It said to dip ' the tip' so I did the whole but of what I thought was the tip.

So does anyone know if you can get a false positive from dipping wrong?

You can't dip wrong it's not possible with those tests. That a strong positive line Suz

Indomitable Ignore the digi, far too early for a positive digi!!, if you want to double check could you not pick up a FRER or something thats 10miu.

AF arrived this morning, so I will be hopping off this bus now and hopping onto the summer hybrid bus. Giving cycle 5 a go and hoping its a lucky one! Good luck to everyone yet to test, will still read the thread and see how you all do, but probably will just post on the hybrid bus now x

Thanks everyone, have now done a clear blue and got a nice strong plus there too. I think I must be from last cycle, as I didn't have a proper period, and although I tested negative it might have been too early. I'm fairly nervous after my mmc earlier this year. Hopefully I can use the fact that I don't know my dates to get an early scan.

If you didn't have a proper af they will initially date you to your mc.

Ah no I've had a couple since my miscarriage, it was just this month I didn't have a proper one.

Would love to know how you handled the missed period as I've missed one this month but have BFNs only.

Did you work on the cycle days you would have done if you hadn't missed one? I've never missed a period before (except when pregnant with DS!) so would love to know!!

nucky, yes that's what I did - I had a couple of days when I had some light spotting right when my period was due, so I counted that as cycle day 1. When it never got started I tested and got a bfn, must have been cd 3. It's weird!

How long ago was your missed one?

I'm now 14 days late in 33 day cycle, so 47 days since start of last cycle!!

Yep. Have never ever missed a period before other than when actually pregnant. Of course I'm now fretting that I've suddenly hit menopause (I'm 35!) so am encouraged by your story about the past month!!

Carrot suggested this could be an aovulatory cycle except I think even if you skip ovulation you bleed?! Bizarre for me....

35 would be a very early menopause! Carrot could be right. Have you been keeping track of where you'd be in your cycle so you know if you miss the next one? I was planning to wait and see if my next one showed up and make a doctor's appointment if not. Hopefully it's just a one off and your cycle will right itself!

Hey Nucky, my schedule was all thrown off in January and six months later it's finally righted itself. A combination of sick folks around me, stress, and everything else made for an incredibly long cycle and be being convinced I was pregnant. Is there anything stressful, etc. happening?

Nucky I once had a 64 day long cycle. It all went back to normal after that though. I had a BFP a couple of months later so it definitely wasn't the menopause! I think sometimes our bodies just so funny things.
