Have been TTC for 5 months and only just starting to get the hang of my cycle would be great to share the journey with others :)

Petrova that is reassuring! I'm 30 & sometimes wonder about that...

So crazy to think that it's actually pretty darn hard to get pregnant!

PetrovaFossil1 · 25/05/2015 13:27

Oh I know! The times I spent stressing when in reality there was almost no chance it had happened!

seliz84 · 26/05/2015 09:55

Hope everyone's had a good bank holiday! Mine has been spent tackling an ikea kitchen.. A true test to a marriage!

I have researched supplements to regulate cycles and got some agnus castus. I've not started them as I've read its best to take them onCD1. But also they can be bad if you take them after ovulation as it an be harmful to a pregnancy. Which would be fine.. If I knew when I ovulate!

Woken up with sore boobs today. Stupidly thought it could be a symptom! But more likely to be AF or ikea related injury!

RattyCatty · 26/05/2015 10:08

Fingers crossed seliz84! When are you going to test?

I'm on cd45... If my OPK actuly meant I ovulated I should be due AF in next few days. Couldn't help myself going to super drug & buying their two pack tests... Going to resist until tomorrow. Absolutely no symptoms though, hmmmm.

Do you guys feel like you can't imagine ever seeing a bfp?! I've also decided I'm going to go to doc next month to talk about irregular periods.

Good luck everyone, let's keep chatting x

PetrovaFossil1 · 26/05/2015 14:27

I'm laughing at Ikea injury! Hopefully sore boobs is a good sign!

Ratty good luck with the doctors. Are you temping or anything to check ovulation?

I cracked and POAS today. BFN but trying to convince myself 10/11 DPO is just too early but not sure I'm in luck this month.
I'm bored at work so think I have too much time to obsess over every little twinge.
I know what you guys mean about the idea of a BFP seeming a bit unreal!

RattyCatty · 26/05/2015 16:15

I was using opks last cycle but I know they don't actually prove that you ovulate, just that you get the surge. If my period doesn't come in next few days & I get a bfn I'll sort of know I'm not!

Thank you re luck at doctor, hope I don't just get fobbed off though.

Sorry about your bfn although there is still time! Fingers crossed for you!

I have been convincing myself that my nipples itch today but it's clearly all in my head!

ClareC85 · 26/05/2015 17:24

Hey there lovely ladies,

Hope you all had a good bank holiday. I did have a little chuckle at IKEA related injury Grin

I've stopped using the Opks I have found them a bit random and unpredictable! I'm due on in a couple of days and trying so hard to resist not testing early.

I can really related to feeling the Bfp is out of reach .. sometimes I just can't see it. Its so hard not to obsess over things at times.

seliz84 · 26/05/2015 18:22

I'm also due AF in the next couple of days, but that's according to a fertility app. And I don't think I can rely on that due to me being so irregular.

It's so reassuring to hear everyone has the same worries as me.. I just can't imagine getting that BFP either.

My friend suggested that I pay to see a fertility doctor to put my mind at rest and offer advice re. My cycles but I think it's too soon for that. Plus I'm a bit reluctant to spend money when I think my own doctor should be providing that help.

Fx there are some BFP's at the weekend! X

ClareC85 · 26/05/2015 20:07

I feel very conflicted within myself at the moment .. One side if my brain is telling me I'm silly for worrying about being able to get pregnant as its only been 5 months ... then there is the other cynical side that always looks at the negatives first .... the cynical side some time wins I hate to admit!

I just didn't know it wouldn't be that easy Confused

I'm starting to get achy boobs ... aunt flow in on her way lol

RattyCatty · 26/05/2015 20:36

Clare - I completely agree - half of you thinks 'chill out it can take a year' and the other half shrieks 'infertility!'

Seliz - how long have you been off pill & how irregular are you?

We will get there ladies ??

ClareC85 · 26/05/2015 21:31

Yes Ratty you are right .. it will happen ..... do you think we will feel like this the second time around lol

RattyCatty · 27/05/2015 08:44

Ladies I've just taken a test & it's positive!!! I am shaking & in shock!

Fingers crossed it's ok as so early on but wanted to let you know! Irregular periods can still mean a BFP! This doesn't seem real!

ktkaye · 27/05/2015 08:52

Congrats RattyCatty! You must be thrilled!

Do you ladies mind if I tag along? I'm waiting for my cycles to start again post 12 years in the pill/implant but oh and I are NTNP in the meantime... Which now means that I feel a bit like I'm in the tww permanently until AF comes back (or BFP but that's pretty unlikely This early on) x

PetrovaFossil1 · 27/05/2015 09:28

Wow Ratty! Big congrats!! I'm so pleased for you!

Kt - of course! I know what you mean post pill. I've been off 3 months and first cycle was a lovely 28 days, ovulating day 14, next cycle 26 days, ovulated day 14, this cycle ovulated day 6. Wtf.

Ratty has given me hope though!

seliz84 · 27/05/2015 09:54

Ratty that's amazing news!! Congratulations!

I've been off the pill since December. First cycle was 70-something days, 2nd was 48 days. I'm now on CD49.
I think I was irregular before the pill, but it was ages ago so can't be certain!

With irregular cycles how do you know when to POAS?? The TWW does sound horrible but I feel like I'm permanently on it. Similar to you KT (welcome btw!).

My best friend has just given birth to twins so off to meet them today.. I've bought them so many little cute outfits. Seriously broody!

PetrovaFossil1 · 27/05/2015 10:56

I think I read that even with irregular cycles, the time after ovulation stays roughly the same. Apparently it's super unusual for it to be longer than 16 days.
So I guess if you're temping or doing OPKs then you can POAS a couple of weeks after ovulation?
This I learned yesterday on doctor Google though, so maybe not 100% accurate!
Such long cycles sound super frustrating though. A friend of mine who's now pregnant made her DH DTD twice a day for two weeks as her cycle was really long. I'd be broken by the end!

RattyCatty · 27/05/2015 11:18

Thanks ladies - does not seem real.

Still waiting to go to loo to do a clearblue test to double check Argh!

The only different thing we did this month was have sex every other day ir every 3 days. The +OPK on day 32 must have been correct too. Keep DTD ladies!

PetrovaFossil1 · 27/05/2015 12:09

How are you feeling ratty? Any giveaways now you know it's a BFP?

RattyCatty · 27/05/2015 13:08

I feel buzzing! Did a clear blue & says 1-2 weeks since conception so that fits with the +OPK.

No real symptoms tbh except itchy nipples yesterday & about a week ago I had some cramping! Sort of hoping symptoms come so I know it's sticking ok!

ktkaye · 27/05/2015 15:45

Eee Catty that's lovely! Are you going to tell anyone? (Except us lot obv!)

I would kill for a few AF cramps right now! Keep imagining I feel something that turns out to be nothing. Have run out of opk and refusing to buy more as I'm starting to obsess! Petrova when is you POAS date?!

RattyCatty · 27/05/2015 20:03

I've told 3 girlfriends who knew we were trying but that's it. Hen do this weekend will be a challenge! :)

ClareC85 · 27/05/2015 21:14

Massive congratulations Ratty!!! ... I done a Morrison's one y.day and got a BFN ...today I done a CB one and got BFP!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

1-2 Weeks the same as you Ratty?

I can't say I've felt any symptoms apart from slights cramping which felt like AF and slight indigestion feelings.

Wishing you all so much luck it will happen ladies ,Smile
