Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

justtheonethen · 30/04/2015 20:43

5hell how horrid Sad

WouldRatherHaveWine · 30/04/2015 20:46

5hell must have been awkward for you though CakeFlowersWine

Need some theoretical OPK advice! FF says ovulation is CD13, AF is usually over by CD5, I have totally not bought posh CB digi ones but there is only 10 in a box. With my cycles being all over the shop I'm not sure when to start using them as I don't want to waste any and miss icing in case it turns out I ice later than I thought. WWYD?

lildottie · 30/04/2015 20:50

wine the FF app has an OPK optimiser on it based on your cycles!

After yesterday's rookie POAS error seemed to have more pee on hands than stick. I have now repurposed a 2/3 of cup US style baking measuring cup. Excellent reach is provided by the handle and it is deep enough to cope with a good gush of mid stream wee. Zero chance of DH using in error as doesn't know how to use cooker let alone bake. Have I chosen well?

pretzelpieces · 30/04/2015 20:59

lil I don't think that makes you a bad friend, you've been through a lot. I hope they are sensitive. Every time someone announces a baby I sit in the bath and have a cry!

pretzelpieces · 30/04/2015 21:01

topiary that's a great idea ponders what measuring cups I might have lurking in the cupboards

POAS again soon?

Topiary13 · 30/04/2015 21:09

Lildottie - don't worry I had cry a month or so back just because yet another work friend got upduffed and I lost my shit tantrum style because 'it was mu turn to be pregnant'. WTF, think AF was in town !

Topiary13 · 30/04/2015 21:14

pretzelpieces not sure if I'm being a bit of a twat if I nip to tesco's and by more tests. Used the two clear blue digi's both say no but am 5 days late now no sign and haven't had a cycle this long since December. Very selfishly would like to be sure if not so can have a good drink this weekend

justtheonethen · 30/04/2015 21:22

Go get a frer topiary rubbing hands and settling in for a bfp

Topiary13 · 30/04/2015 21:34

Thanks just I have no self control , off I go to Tesco's!

Hobbit19 · 30/04/2015 21:45

Ooh exciting. Digis are notoriously rubbish, I think Tesco own brands are too si choose carefully.

jellypi3 · 30/04/2015 21:46

Good luck top :)

lil :( not a bad friend at all. I get those feelings quite often, especially when people are constantly putting baby updates on fail-book

daisyspice · 30/04/2015 21:48

Aw 5hell hugs

Lil fuck that shit u cry if u want to I had proper rage tantrum few weeks ago due to all these ppl that fall pregnant by looking at a boy totally unfair I know but there's only so much a girl can take

Hi newbies/lurkers

Nutella u make me feel hungry Smile and now I sound like a perv Smile sorry

Stoatystoat · 30/04/2015 21:52

Evening ladies. Have been all organised and got packed for going away (usually stuffing stuff in the case on my way out), had productive day at work, prepared for an early night (cd11 on an unpredictable cycle) then my brother phoned me to whip up some baking for work tomorrow the fucker! Anyway have produced the baked goods and found time to shag.

Bit worried that every day over the next few days might be too much for DH sperm. Should I be worried about that? I also don't want cystitis.

I had some slight cramping on my left side and some EWCM today. Does this mean I'm icing or that icing is imminent?

Lots of stuff came out, so don't think anything will come of that shag even if we got the timing right.

lil two FB pregnancy announcements including a 20 week gender one also. Waaaaaaah. It's not fair. You're not a bad friend, this is just horrible.

5hell I'm sorry that happened. It is shit when stuff like that happens.

Mmm pate pickle

WouldRatherHaveWine · 30/04/2015 22:00

lil I have no freaking idea how that app works. Will have a lookie.

But in regards to your friend you are not a bad friend. It's completely normal and perfectly allowed.

I felt like a proper shit friend. We were 2 weeks apart and I had just had the MC, had to go with her to the EPU and when I saw the heartbeat I sobbed. She said to her DH I was soppy, but really I was just thinking "why not me" and I felt evil after

Stoatystoat · 30/04/2015 22:08

would you are a better person than me! I could not have gone. I felt like I deserved a medal advising my DSis about emergency contraception the other week! I was supportive but it was weird supporting her trying not to get pregnant while I'm trying hard to!

justtheonethen · 30/04/2015 22:09

wine lil neither of you are bad people, you're both lovely. We all have these moments

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 30/04/2015 23:11

I've had 2 unplanned pregnancies and I can assure you that is an absolutely terrifying experience. I don't envy people who get pregnant easily one little bit, they have very difficult choices to make, ones that they might regret or not be able to cope with. I've seen many people incredible careers by having children they hadn't planned for... I know it is very hard to see other people getting what you want but the grass is always greener on the other side

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 30/04/2015 23:13

Not that I am attempting to discredit anyone's pain. I'm just suggesting people are not always as happy about pregnancy as they let on to others.

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 30/04/2015 23:15

That was meant to say ruin incredible careers up there. Autocorrect fail.

honeysucklejasmine · 30/04/2015 23:23

Gosh Wine I dont think I could have gone! I was four weeks behind my bff (who has a beautiful girl now) and there's no way I would have held it together, let alone turned up. But she wouldn't have asked me to either.

Have any of you thought about birthing partners? Would you have just you and your DH?
