Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

lildottie · 22/04/2015 11:36

necklace is a heart saying "mummy of angels", a circle with 2 sets of footprints on and 2 birthstones - February, rose, for date we got bfp, and October, amethyst, for due date. I had 2 embryo transfer so probably lost twins.

fallenstar27 · 22/04/2015 11:40

maemay · 22/04/2015 11:48

aaw, Lil that's so sweet. It's good that you have a special memory keepsake. Oh, I hadn't realised that your mc was twins. I guess it's quite common with IVF to implant more than one. Gx and praying that next time they're sticky little beans!!! xx

maemay · 22/04/2015 11:50

Oh Fallen sad times! Cake and [icecream] for you! there should totally be an icecream icon!

honeysucklejasmine · 22/04/2015 11:58

Shock how rude! Yes, I do have a hot tub. Soon to be an empty hot tub.

5hell · 22/04/2015 12:13

hope you get closer to a resolution today daisy

todays complaints (because I'm a moany moaner today) include indigestion, headache and worries that my appendix is grumbling again (now that UTI has been ruled out)

love that our dirty minds think that "emptying the hot tub" could be a euphemism...for what?!?

maemay · 22/04/2015 12:34

Honey are you emptying it to do maintenance/repairs on it, or so that you can't be tempted to use it when you're pg? don't want to cook the baby

seafoodeatit · 22/04/2015 12:44

fallen I'm really sorry she turned up Flowers

lil your necklace sounds like a lovely way to remember them.

I'm supposed to be in my 'fertile' period currently, which would be great if I was ovulating, but I'm not.

I do love IC tests though, I've even made DH do one in the past!

fallenstar27 · 22/04/2015 13:18

Thanks guys, have stocked up on ice cream half price ben&jerry's in asda

Anyone watch obem last night? Just watched it now sobbing like a child Was a good one.

honeysucklejasmine · 22/04/2015 13:58

Mae we're emptying it for two reasons. 1 to change the water, which needs doing every 4 months or so. And 2 because regularly sitting in hot water might be damaging dh's sperm. They take up to four months to be made so could take that long to get some good quality swimmers.

We got preg very quickly, first cycle. Sadly miscarried and haven't got preg since. We got hot tub just before starting trying.

daisyspice · 22/04/2015 14:07

Oooo id love a hot tub they give me the horn!!

Sorry the witch got to u fallen Hmm

So yet another blood test has shown my levels are coming down Smile so no need for horrible drugs and today I have officially started bleeding Smile I know I should probably feel sad but I'm glad the waiting is hopefully over without the need for any interventions I came to terms with the not having a baby anymore but was terrified at the possibility of surgery and drugs which may impact on fertility

Sorry for the epic post but I'm hopeful il I can don my cape soon Smile

maemay · 22/04/2015 14:15

Wow, Daisy you seem to be coping remarkably well. Your emotions may well go up and down though, so if you do suddenly get down about it, it's ok cos you're processing what's happened. Well done for staying positive so far!

Honey oh! You don't want any cooked sperm! Good plan! (Though I guess a shame to not use the hot tub anymore) maybe you could still use it without DH??

gaggiagirl · 22/04/2015 14:42

daisy you're a trooper! Lots of love to you and 5hell

lildottie · 22/04/2015 15:05

daisy you are incredibly strong. I too wanted to get back to ttc asap. my body had other ideas as I took 5 weeks to ovulate!

Mae I don't know for sure they both implanted but I know they both went in, had photos of them both, and got a really early pos test result (hcg higher with twins) so in my mind I lost twins, even though I'll never know for sure. I got necklace with long chain so I wear it under my cloths every day. I like knowing its there, and close to my heart.

honey I'm jealous sorry Smile

blood tests booked in for next Thursday! Grin Grin

daisyspice · 22/04/2015 15:46

Oh I've had my tears and tantrums about it all but I'm trying to remain positive about it all sad as it is it's just one of those things

5 weeks Shock I'm planning on waiting a while before trying again to let things settle down

What happens with the blood tests lil?

Stoatystoat · 22/04/2015 16:31

daisy hugs to you! you are doing amazing...I also wanted it just to be over and to get cracking with TTC again. I have had a fair few down days since, not loads but they have been bad when they've hit so you are doing great. But it's ok to get upset too.

Hope you're doing okay too 5hell

I had a great meeting with some external visitors at work today, the subject of my mc came up randomly and I knew one of them totally knew what i'd been through, as she was leaving she gave me a hug and said she was sorry for what I'd been through and told me it was going to be okay. It was just what I needed, it's been two months today.

Hope everyone is well sorry you have a visitor fallen

honeysucklejasmine · 22/04/2015 16:38

Gosh, women really can get through anything, can't we? Brilliant work ladies. Grin Flowers Cake Wine

Mae I couldn't do that to him, he'd cry. I don't enjoy it as much as him (he LOVES it) so won't go in without him.

Well Lil, next time you're 10 miles from my house you'll have to warn me, and I'll fill it up for you.

nutellawithbananas · 22/04/2015 16:48

Love this thread - am welling up reading the posts because it's crap what some of you are going through, then because everyone is so damn nice and supportive and finally because I only get emotional around my period so am fully expecting that to turn up now!
So moving on to a more light hearted topic - I've got a 20 next voucher - what should I buy or would you buy? I need a work dress or blouse but that's a bit sensible - maybe a going out top?

maemay · 22/04/2015 16:52

Nut how about a summery dress that could be suitable for work but also double up as a going-out dress? New season; new wardrobe! Wink

lildottie · 22/04/2015 17:20

ooh good question but, I have a voucher for next too! no idea what to buy but planning clothes rather than home stuff!

fallen sorry the witch came. Sad

daisy I use all the contraband going wanted to take advantage of the possibility of being more fertile after mc. swear I had a cp in that cycle too.

honey I'll hold you to that you know!Wink

daisy I'm having a blood test that the clinic want to do to check mc risk for something but can't bloody remember what it is. will find out on Thursday so I can Google like a mad thing! I think its something to do with blood thickness or something. also having a test for tsh (thyroid hormone) and anti thyroid anti bodies to see if I'm eligible for a clinical trial. they've found a link between women who mc and the presence of the anti thyroid antibodies so are running a trial to see if taking thyroxine reduces mc risk if you have the anti bodies.

honeysucklejasmine · 22/04/2015 17:24

Lil if you do need thyroxine, it's win win! You'll get free prescriptions for life! And you get help and a trial.

CarrotPuff · 22/04/2015 17:49

Fallen sorry about the witch. Magnums are half price at Tesco atm

Daisy that's great news! You're doing so well. As others said, you might get down days, but we are here for you Flowers

5hell I hope the end will come quick for you too.

lil you are the second person telling about this trial today. One other girl on mc thread has had her results back and she actually does have the antibodies. I hope the drugs work (but I hope you don't need them!)

We were supposed to have salmon for dinner tonight but I forgot to take it out the freezer Confused So might be getting fish & chips Blush

CountryGal4 · 22/04/2015 17:52

Been a bit lurky lately
Sorry to viroids having a tough time.

I'm confused. Sunday nights opk was darkish - not a positive. They're now completely blank. Have felt quite 'damp' all avo and just wiped and a load of ewcm. Cervix waaaay soft

Normally I get three days of watery cm with opk getting slowly darker then a two day and a lil ewcm on ice day and no other time through cycle

What do you gals think?

honeysucklejasmine · 22/04/2015 17:55

I was about to get excited about joining a trial, then realised I already take thyroxine. Duh!
