We quickly ran out of room on the old thread so here's a shiny new one

Just brought a sample pot wasn't sure whether I should get narwhales and unicorns or monkey farts but I went for monkey farts

When I had my cat he didn't really go out, he would go out for about 30 mins - an hour tops then come home, he would always be home to come to bed with me, one night he didn't return, I found him in the road I had been up all night looking for him because it was so out of character. I do miss him .

That is awful Duckey. I would be in a terrible state if something like that happened. Our two are so soft. They love to be cuddled in. I worry when they are out but they only go out the back where it is fields. The front is a dead end and we live at the dead end end. They go out for hours. The other night he stayed out all night and when we got up he was sunbathing on the shed roof and there were 4 dead mice on the patio. He trotted in, scoffed two breakfasts and slept in the sun room all day.

He and his sister avoid DS like the plague. They ignore him or sniff at him as if he is something unpleasant.

Ziggy is a boring cat he has never caught anything. He goes out most of the day to wander and then spends his night inside lying on the stairs or outside DS's room.
I think he's upstairs now. he has his own pillow outside DS's room lol.

Aww ur poor cat :( I worry that will happen to mine. He stayed out one night as I couldn't find him before I went to bed so he never came in but thank god he was waiting at the door when I got up the next day.

I was lulu I had to have 3 days off work they all thought I was nuts! If they're in at night where do they sleep? Dm has two cats and I sometimes worry they will sit on ds, or is that just an old wives tale? They aren't bothered by him either, one of them completely avoids him, the other just states at him as if to say 'what on earth is that'

Mine was such a lovely soft cat, he would just follow me round the house, we had a cat flap and he would just go out about 9 - 9.30 then be back in by 10 my bed time and he'd come and curl up in bed with me

They used to sleep in our bedroom but their cat beds are on the landing now. One sleeps in the cat bed and the other one sleeps on the sofa in the sunroom and makes himself a little nest with the cushions and the throw.

If DS is wailing they hide.

Oh he is beautiful Cupcake, he has lovely markings. I love tabbies.

DH was not keen on cats before we met but I had an old cat who was a total character and just attached himself to DH who had no choice. Then I got these two kittens from the RSPCA and DH just became their dad. The girl loves him and the boy- the one in the photos- loves me.

They are much easier than DS to look after.

I totally imagined what everyone looked like too as didn't imagine Lulu's DH to have a beard either

Yes Lulu tabbies are lovely, they are lovely sometimes cats are lol and yes I agree much easier to look after than the children
I also agree tho, I didn't expect ur DH to have a beard either Lulu [grin

Wow tori! Is it v expensive? That's my only worry, if I go back to work I would only do part time but the nursery fees sound ridiculous!

We're really lucky because DM is retired and very keen on looking after DS when I o back to work. Don't think she'd want to look after him every ay once I go back full time, but I've got a friend whose DM is a child minder so will probably send him there sometimes too.

Lovely cats everyone I wish we could have one but since we're renting we're not allowed and anyway I find pets too much responsibility, and would be scared of something happening to them. There is a very pretty fluffy tubby that likes to visit us sometimes but she gets overexcited and bites and scratches so we've discouraged her from coming in now DS is here.

Lil they are a huge responsibility! I don't know why I didn't just stick to 1 dog , well I do. I had a dog, h said he had to have one cus I had one, then I got forged to have the little one as if I didn't they were going to have her pts

I've had so many animals that way! I go to the vets and they see me coming! Last time I went I ended up with a hedgehog for a week

Tori that's the same price as DS's nursery, he went in at 6 months old but took him out a couple months later as I just couldn't afford it. It's ridiculously expensive, I pay less on my rent lol!
DS gets his 15 hours free starting September but even then I still have to pay! As it's only 3 hours in the morning and 3 in the afternoon, 7:30am-10:30am and 1pm-4pm
If u want him staying longer anything inbetween those times u have to pay for!
Because of the new baby etc I have no choice but to put him in and pay even if I can't afford to.

Lill for me it wasn't worth going back to work rele because I didn't earn lots in my old job and literally every bit I earnt went on his nursery! Left me with nothing to pay bills, thankfully exH looked after him as well as other family. Now with exH new job and mine it works out well that he's off when I'm at work so he has him. But when new baby is here I rele need thay time to bond with baby and have DS in nursery. Also he needs it to help prepare for school and learn sharing etc.

Omg Ducky how did u get a hedgehog!? Lol!

Cupcake- he often has a beard but he sometimes shaves it off and I think he looks younger without it but he likes it. At least it is very close cropped. He thinks it disguises his double chin.

I am going to buy a new ipad today. This one has given up the ghost completely with times and dates. I woke this morning and it said 07.17. I woke DH qnd told him he was late. He jumped up, showered, dressed and rushed out to work. I got a text to say 'It is 6.45am Lu. I am the only one here'

Ipad was reading 8.05. I thought DS was sleeping well.

Anyway, the edge is warped where I dropped it and the glass is starting to fall out in little chunks now.

Sairie your cats are lovely! And they like each other, ours don't really like each other.

Well a woman took him to the vets, he was found being kicked around the street by a bunch of kids they'd broke his legs as. Stuff, he couldn't walk so needed syringe feeding every 3 hours, the vet said (right infront of my face) 'were unable to get anyone here to syringe feed him that often so unless we can find someone to take him he will have to be pts' so I had to step up.

I called him Nigel and he lived in the spare room now ds room he started to walk bits and I would take him out in the gardens with me and people would give me such funny looks because I was walking round with a hedgehog with bandaged legs he then started eating himself but then he stopped and just stared loosing weight. I found a woman that takes in hedgehogs and contacted her and she said she would have him (she was a hedgehog specialist ) I cried so much giving him over! But she stays in touch. Apparently he went for obvs at her vets and they has broken all his legs and his nose which we didn't know about, so he couldn't smell to eat. She usually has them then releases them when they are well but she will keep Nigel for the rest of his life as he's too damaged to go back in the wild

Hahaha lulu!!!! Was DH angry? I think if I did that to h he would never ever forgive me!!!

DD's nursery used to be £60! This time I hop to have them in my work nursery, which is subsidised, and with her free 15 hours should work out to be £60/day for both of them.

DS is doing very well. Still wakes every 2 hours or so at night but feeds quickly and goes back to sleep. DD loves him and keeps kissing him.

This maternity leave seems so much easier than last time. DS is incredibly easy going and just fits in around us. Really hope it lasts! I thought I'd be a nervous wreck but it's just like a really long holiday! Cupcake, DD goes to nursery two days/week and you are right, it's been really good to have that time to bond with DS.

It's awful weather here today :( rain rain and even more rain! No sitting in the garden today :( I have to look after my brother this afternoon as well so no idea what we are going to do! Will probably have to stay in as he has autism and doesn't rele like to venture out, especially in the rain!

Aw that's great things are going wel Bears! :) yes see that's what I hope for, just a little bit of bonding time just me and baby whilst DS is at nursery, that way he will be less jealous and I can spend time with him when he's home :)
Do u find DD gets jealous often or is she quite happy with DS? I'm worried about my DS as he's an attention seeker lol!
