Conceiving with frozen sperm - tips and timing please!!!

I am a regular MNetter but have name-changed as I think I'd be quite identifiable.

I am TTC with frozen sperm from a sperm bank, I have done the insemination today but am now worrying it's too early.

Basically, I have a darkening line appearing on cheap strip OPKs since yesterday but no positive OPK yet on Clearblue (the "smiley face" one!). Where I conceiving with fresh sperm, then I'd be OK to be a day or 2 prior to ovulation (I know this from experience!) because the swimmers can hang around. However, it seems that frozen sperm, once thawed, lose motility etc. after 12-24 hours which makes timing really crucial.

The tricky thing is that the LH surge which gives the dark line / smiley face on an OPK precedes the actual ovulation in most cases by 12-36 hours, however, I have also read that as women age (I am older) there is a lesser gap between LH surge and Ovulation - and also that the LH surge may be very short (therefore advice is to OPK test every few hours as you get close).

I'm slowly driving myself mad here and am bound to do so for the next 2 weeks but currently I'm not sure whether to order another vial of frozen sperm for fast shipping for this month as I think I may have inseminated too early.

I would LOVE to hear from ANYONE who has successfully conceived using frozen sperm and in particular, whether you inseminated on the day of LH surge, prior or after for your BFP.

Otherwise please just wish me luck! This is a much-wanted child / sibling.
