Hello. I am wondering if anyone can give me professional answer on the following:I had "unprotected night"day 8 of my cycle but not planning at the moment. I then took a day after pill 30 hrs after that. My cycle is usually is 26-30 days, so seems unlikely that I was ovulating. What is the probability I got pregnant? I know the pill works best when taken within 12 hrs and I took it after 30, and from what I read it's nearly 50/50 chances.. PANIC. Can anyone advise? Thank you

Hi maryjane17. In theory you can get pregnant at any stage of your cycle BUT day 8 is likely to be a bit early as its udual to ovulate a bit later than that around day 10+. The morning after pill you took can be affective up to 36 hours after unprotected sex, so you should be covered by that.
The only definitive way to know if you're oregnant or not is to do a test. An accurate result can show up on a First Response test a couple of days before your period is due. Remember to use first morning urine.
Hope you get the result you want.

Agree with above. If it was only day 8 and you took morning after pill within 48 hours, it's extremely unlikely you'll have your hands full in nine months!

Thank you both. It's just its quite confusing stats about the pill. It says 12-24 hours effectiveness up to 95%, then 85% after that and reduced to 58% after 36 hours, so no clarity with all those "up to" and based on specific delays... I am hoping there was no ovulation , but I understand that you can get pregnant at any day of your cycle anyway, so it's like a lottery!!
