Looking for a Mum-to-be to buddy up! I'm TTC number 1 and not had any luck so far, having a couple of months off before we start trying again. x

Does anybody else stress that they seem to lose their husbands "deposit" straight away, even if they lie still afterwards?

VioletIbiza88 · 13/04/2015 07:52

Morning all, well after been almost certain yesterday that I had already ov'd before starting the opk's, I got a flashing smiley face today! Meaning it's imminent. So unexpectedly dtd has meant OH has set off late for work! Oops!!

And this is after us having a conversation yesterday about the fact that he is away at a work conference this week and he said would it matter timing's wise if he didn't come back mid week (he doesn't usually when he's at this conference as its quite far away), so yesterday i agreed that was no problem as i was sure ov had come and gone. But now we know it hasn't, he's now agreed to drive all the way back home on wednesday!!

Brooke I looked that up as i did wonder about that, and what i was reading said it was likely its just the semen and not the sperm that's leaking out as a lot of its not needed to get the sperm where it needs to go.

Brooke113 · 13/04/2015 09:11

Aww that's nice of him Violet :) good luck!

nickynackynoo31 · 13/04/2015 10:27

Brooke113. ..I'm glad it's not just me Smile

violetibiza88 that's great fingers crossed for you hun...Wink

I've done another test today and I think it's heading towards a positive Smile Smile Smile..
mine are cheap.ones and need two lines similar in colour...today I've got two lines one fainter than the other so maybe thinking tomorrow???
x

VioletIbiza88 · 13/04/2015 10:59

I know Brooke, I was well impressed! What's happened with your opk today?

Nicky, that sounds good, did you have no second line at all yesterday? Will be good to hear from you about what happens tomorrow.

The flashing smiley face indicates high fertility I'm now awaiting the static smiley face which indicates peak fertility, according to the instructions for most women that happens within 1-4 days of seeing the flashing smiley face. Think it must be quite soon though as if its going to be 4 or more days this will be my longest cycle yet!

littlebbunny · 13/04/2015 11:27

I've been in another forum. Hope I can join you ladies. I've had positive opk since Saturday although line got really dark today. Have bd'd eod. Still new to TTC and don't entirely understand opk. First cycle since mc.

littlebbunny · 13/04/2015 11:27

Should have said I've been posting in another forum.

Issie339 · 13/04/2015 11:57

Hi littlebbunny, welcome. Sorry to hear about your mc Flowers Don't worry about not entirely understanding opks, I don't think any of us on this thread can quite get to grips with opks!! Haha.

Violet- wow that's dedication from your OH, nice that you're both as enthusiastic about this ttc milarky. I used the flashing smiley opks and they were really good, I tended to get flashing smiley for 2 days then solid smiley so hopefully Wednesday will be your day.

Brooke- yes I stress about this too but then I think, surely the female body can't be THAT badly designed and some of the sperm must stay in there, surely.

No symptoms today, feeling absolutely fine and normal- sigh.

nickynackynoo31 · 13/04/2015 16:25

Hi littlebunny. ..welcome and sorry to hear about your mc...

violetibiza88. ..no up to now I've just had 1 line and then today there was Def 2 but 1 lighter than the other...it says on instructions that lines should be similar in colour but one maybe slightly lighter...so I'm hoping tomoz both will be similar in colour Wink x

Brooke113 · 13/04/2015 16:37

Violet- I ran out of cheapy OPKs so accidently popped into the pharmacy close to where I work (no other shops within 2 miles) I don't drive either :( the only OPKs they had were clearblue, so I waited the recommended 4 hours without peeing! 4 hours! And it was negative :( going to do it for the next few days and if they're still negative I guess I've already ov'd. Cd21 today, my cycle is never longer than 34 days, so in theory of ovulation occurs 2 weeks before AF, I should ov no later than Cd22, tomorrow, does that sound right to you guys? Smile

DreamingOfOurBaby · 13/04/2015 17:32

Hey Ladies

My husband and I are planning to try for a baby this month (cycle I should say but getting used to the terms). I am on cycle day 1 and an beyond excited to start trying.

We have been married nearly 6 years and been together nearly 10 when we met at university. In that time we have travelled, built our careers and bought our dream family home. We were waiting for my maternity pay to kick in (you had to work in the company two years), however that changed a couple of months ago to one year so we are going to start trying as I have been with the firm over a year. Sounds superficial to put it off for my maternity pay, but just wanted to be sensible.

We have always been quite healthy but I have started to change the food in our cupboards a little to include some conception friendly food and also received my vitamins today in the post.

We are keeping this to ourselves as we don't want the pressure from family and friends as they are not expecting us to try until next year. Hence the reaching out to have someone to talk to about this. I have three sisters, of which two are also trying to conceive, but am keeping it from them too as its something I think my husband and I can cherish as our own.

Would love some advise / support / natter!

I am 29, husband is 31 and we are finally ready to start this journey.

Would love some Mumsnet friends along for the journey too

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 13/04/2015 18:49

Hi Dreaming. Hope your journey on these threads is a short one!

DH seems to be coping better with his foot and special boot after breaking his foot on thursday! Hopefully by fertile time he'll be in the mood for some rudeness!

Anyone else due to have AF/POAS on 4th May?

nickynackynoo31 · 13/04/2015 18:52

Hi dreamingofourbaby....
welcome to the thread and to all us ttc crazy ladies Smile Smile

it's lovely to have ppl to natter to about our crazy thoughts and feelings.

these ladies have put my mind at ease so much over past few days as no one knows I'm ttc either.

hopefully we can all share our adventures along the way. x

nickynackynoo31 · 13/04/2015 18:53

Aw no maybemrsmum2016. ...hope he's ok... x

Issie339 · 13/04/2015 19:39

Hi Dreaming, sounds like you're in the right place!

MaybeMrs, fingers crossed for your OH's foot! How dare he break his foot whilst you're ttc!! Grin hope he's ok.

Brooke, yeh that sounds about right, 2 weeks off 34 is cd20 so if you don't get a positive in the next few days you've probably ov already.

I'd be POAS 22/23 April, am I the first????!! Hmm

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 13/04/2015 19:56

Issie I'm on CD3 and AF is still in full force so he's got a few days to get over it, ha! I have quite a short cycle though, so might have to get busy soon after AF disappears! But yes, how dare he! I might confiscate his football boots in future Grin

Wellthen · 13/04/2015 20:02

Brooke I definitely wondered that. TMI alert, we dtd the other night (not ttc yet though) and it was rather erm, messy afterwards! I don't think theres any real evidence about positions, although would love to hear it if anyone has any.

I feel like too many people 'know' - no one will know officially (as in we won't rush round telling people) but recently a lot of people have been asking 'will you try after you get married?' and its difficult to say no when I'm excited! We also have a couple of friends who have revealed that they will be trying roughly the same time as us. Some of our friends lack boundaries I think!

But I always drop into convo that it might take a long time. Our families have been too polite to ask (fortunately!) so it'll be a surprise for some anyway.

Brooke113 · 13/04/2015 20:26

Issie-Presuming the next few days give me negative OPKs I'll be testing around the same time :)

nickynackynoo31 · 13/04/2015 20:58

issie339....AF due on 24 so I think you maybe first in line this time Smile Smile x

Issie339 · 13/04/2015 21:07

Oh no, I feel nervous being first for some reason!!! I'm not feeling pregnant vibes at the moment so not hopeful Sad

Lookingforadvice123 · 13/04/2015 21:48

Sounds like you are the first! My period would be due 26th April if I'm following my most common 28 day cycle.

Brooke113 · 13/04/2015 21:51

Don't be nervous Issie :) it's exciting..and we're all here to virtually hold each others hand Smile

nickynackynoo31 · 13/04/2015 22:11

issie339 don't feel nervous hun. we're all here for each other either way. I'm not holding out hope this time but we shall see.

fingers crossed for us all. Smile
xx

Issie339 · 13/04/2015 22:22

Thanks, I'll try and be brave and stay sane Wink I hope we have some bfps this month on this thread, it will be exciting!

Brooke113 · 14/04/2015 08:20

So, negative again this morning on clearblue opk, I'm praying I have already ov'd and my body isn't messing with me! Have a good day ladies :)
