Yeah that's a good point about dtd tonight. I wouldn't normally justify the expense but might make an exception just this once. Should I not pee for a few hours first, I've only ever used opks with fmu?? Is it 4 hrs an don't drink that much??

I started the opks today (blank circle) due to ovulate Saturday. Had coffee Saturday and Sunday but back on the decaf today- I was on holiday after all!! Wink

Ok...i've just downloaded an app and its a period and ovulation tracker which asked me for my cycle length. I'm not sure of this as my last period i had was my first real one so the one before was a 'pill bleed' but i just used that...38 days (and that would be about right for what my period was like before i was on the pill).

Anyway...this app has said ovulation is today! I don't know if it's right or not but considering we DTD this morning i'm a bit like OMG.

I would actually be shocked if i got pregnant this quick haha but at the same time seeing that has made me get my hopes upConfused

Violet did you do another opk? Yes you do need to hold pee for 4 hours before doing it, which I find impossible to do during the day! Blush

Sarah I don't always trust those apps, I do have one just to keep track of my cycles, mine said I wasn't going to ov until the end of this week according to my cycle length, yet I got a positive opk this morning. It was also our by 4 days last cycle. Try watching out for Ewcm.

Flashing smiley face again this morning, dtd this morning as its CD14. Really hope its going to be tomorrow, as iv got three nightshifts starting on monday, an would like smep to be finished by then!!!

Issie I don't know when I'm expecting ov any day I guess. Noticed ewcm on sunday, so hopefully its soon.

Ive never used the ones with the flashy smileys, do you always get a solid smile? So as I got my solid smiley yday, if I'd have used the ones you're using would I have had flashing smileys say, Saturday and Sunday? I'm just a little confused. I've read that others have had flashing smileys for a week or more, doesn't it mean your body is gearing up to ovulate? Keeping everything crossed for you that it's a solid smiley tomorrow Violet smep is hard work isn't it! Lol I've worn poor dh out Grin

violet not sure about these smiley things as i've never used them but is flashing then solid smiley isn't it? So surely you'll get ur solid smiley soon :) i'm thinking i should maybe start temping...

I loved the film :) how about you? I was even quite emotional at the end (I am never emotional at the cinema haha). Thought it would be a good way to end them but I'm already hearing that there's another one coming out!

I've only used them for two cycles. Last time I had two days of flashing smiley face before static smiley. Flashing means its picked up estrogen surge, it then continues to look for lh surge which indicates ovulation is approaching.

Sarah I thought the film was great an yeah there is another one! I loved the end too!

violet I noticed there was a new little leaflet in with my dual hormone opks when I opened them yesterday, it says:
66% of women get 0-4 days of flashing smiley
25% get 5-9 days of flashing smiley
1% get 10+ days of flashing smiley
8% get no solid smiley after flashing smiley

So 4 days of flashing smiley is definitely well within the normal scale for them, I reckon you'll get your solid smiley in the next few days hun.

Brooke well the stats say 8% don't get a solid smiley but I have always had a solid smiley. Yes, you would have got flashing smileys for about 2-4 days before Monday if you'd used the dual hormone indicator opks.

Another empty circle for me on the opks today (cd13 of 31 day cycle). Not totally stuck to SMEP but dtd cd8 and cd12 so far.

I did a normal opk this afternoon and it was negative, I had the smiley face yday morning with fmu, could I have ov'd yday? I keep getting myself in a tizz and reading how OPKs detect when you're close to ovulating but don't actually prove that you've ovulated Sad I did have the worst stomach cramps yday, and had to take pain relief, but they weren't one sided cramps....

Yeah they don't prove your ovulating only a blood test or temping would do that, but its a pretty clear indication if the necessary hormone levels occur then chances are you have ov'd. Shame you didn't do a cheapy opk yesterday too just to compare and see what it would have looked like. Is it completely negative today or just a lighter second line?

Thanks Issie for the info Im sure it is normal just worrying that ov will be really late again like last cycle (cd20/21) and then worry that af will come early and I will have a really short luteal phase again (obviously hoping af won't come at all). If the solid smiley comes tomorrow then it will fit in better with finishing smep before nights on monday as I really don't want to be doing smep and working nights!!! and also I can stop worrying, as cd15 is a more reassuring day to ov than cd20/21! It will make me think Ive got a better chance anyway!

I was cd15 yesterday Violet and got my smiley so fingers crossed you'll get yours tomorrow. There was the control line, and a very faint test line :( hoping that means I ov'd yday, will still dtd tonight and tomorrow, as trying hard to follow smep too.

Issie so far I've stuck to it exactly, dtd CD8,10,12 an 14.

Sarah smep is the sperm meets egg plan. It just tells you when to dtd to maximize your chances, its all of ours first cycle trying to follow it so we shall see if it works for any of us. It says you should start dtd every other day from CD8 an start opks on CD10. Then once you get a positive opk you dtd that day, the next day an the one after then miss a day then do one last try. The idea is that its very easy to miss your ovulation window as the egg could only live 12 hrs, so with smep your chances increase as there should always be sperm there to meet the egg.

Hmm not to bad Issie won't manage it fully, won't be able to dtd tomorrow and you're supposed to do it for 3 days after positive opk. I got a smiley yesterday, do.you think it matters if we don't dtd tomorrow? Do you think I'm.already covered?
