Looking for a Mum-to-be to buddy up! I'm TTC number 1 and not had any luck so far, having a couple of months off before we start trying again. x

Ooh Issie keeping everything crossed for you. I'm CD25 today, and have all my Af symptoms and from the negative test when I tested, I'm.counting myself out this month and willing Af to hurry up now!

sparklesandfizz · 17/04/2015 09:33

Issie how exciting! Wishing you all the positive thoughts on your quest for the elusive BFP.
Where are you up to on the journey?
Have heard first response are fab - don't think I'd be able to wait!

My main concern is that I'm not actually ovulating, 8mth old still breastfeeds quite regularly which can really mess things up. Have had v regular periods for months now but that is no guarantee of fertility returning.

We started to try after a hasty conversation earlier this month and part of me is thinking I must be mad however we always knew another was part of the plan and I feel ready (plus DH will do anything for dtd) so here I am in the tww whiling away the time on mumsnet.

nickynackynoo31 · 17/04/2015 10:52

Aw brooke fingers crossed for next month....

I feel shocking again headache and feeling sick....I'm now thinking is it a bug?? would you get symptoms so soon if I was pregnant?? Monday was ov day I think? x

nickynackynoo31 · 17/04/2015 10:52

I can't wait to hear from you issie339 in next few days x

Issie339 · 17/04/2015 11:31

Thanks everyone. There are 2 HPTs in the pack so I could do one on Saturday/Sunday and then if negative try again on the 24th (the day after my AF due)...but I don't know if I can bare to see that BFN! I might stay in hopeful ignorance for another few days. I'll keep you posted anyway.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for you Brooke. If it's not our month this month we can both plough on to next month together Grin with even more hand-holding and obsessing lols.

Sparklesandfizz- maybe try OPKs to put your mind at rest about the ovulating, at least then you'll know one way or the other and can plan around it. Plus you are definitely mad to be ttc with an 8 month old!! Wink

Nicky- could be a bug but fingers crossed for a baby instead. That's the worst thing about this symptom spotting, it's so bloomin' ambiguous!!

Brooke113 · 17/04/2015 13:57

Definitely not my month, did a first response earlier and it was negative, 3 days before AF is due, so onwards and upwards, here's to next month for me :)

Looking forward to hearing your news in the next few days Issie

Brooke113 · 17/04/2015 14:09

Does anybody else ever think, why pregnancy doesn't occur, when there's so many sperms in each "deposit" and you know exactly when you're ovulating, so why doesn't it happen?

Issie339 · 17/04/2015 14:23

Sorry to hear that Brooke Flowers I'm pretty sure I'll be joining you for next month as I'm not feeling at all pregnant and am 5/6 days before AF now.

And yes yes yes! I think that all the time, if you're doing it at the right time and there are sperm there when you ovulate why don't you get pregnant? Surely it should be a 100% thing if you plan it all out. No idea Brooke, it mystifies me too.

nickynackynoo31 · 17/04/2015 14:37

Aw brooke sorry to hear that...fingers crossed for next month for you...

yes I think k the same it's rather mind boggling....

I'm feeling bit better...still feel bit sick but not actually been sick which makes me think it's not a bug!!!! who knows lol xx

Brooke113 · 17/04/2015 14:49

Glad it's not just me :) fingers crossed for you nicky could be a good sign

Thanks everyone, I bet Af will take her time now!

nickynackynoo31 · 17/04/2015 15:59

You can bet AF will take it's time...just because you want it to come and get it over with.....

I've just sat and watched one born every minute and cried all way through lol x

VioletIbiza88 · 17/04/2015 16:33

Nicky - I just watched the second to most recent one born on 4od. I want one :(

I think the dtd marathon might be over now, I thought might have one last try tonight, based on the fact that if I got a static smiley on wed I could have still ov'd on thurs and so there could still be an egg if they live 24 hrs. But just got a text from OH saying he's feeling rough today. Hopefully either Monday or Wednesdays efforts have done the job!!

Nicky I also have just had two days of really bad nausea, I know it doesn't mean anything as it was actually on ovulation so couldn't meant pregnancy, but I'm still sad it's gone today! :(

I think this TWW is going to kill me, it's all I'm thinking about. I've two tests coming in the post and I'm going to try really hard not to use any till the 29th which is a Wednesday when AF due. Although there is a reason why it might be a good idea to test on the Monday as I'm going into a different work place where I might need to be a bit more careful if I am???? Dont know what to do on that one?? Dont' want to see BFN!

Oh an Issie Im impressed with your resolve so far!!
Good luck everyone xxx

sparklesandfizz · 17/04/2015 16:35

Bad luck Brooke - hoping may is the one for you!
Nicky all sounding good.....roll on next week when you'll know for sure.
Issie339 I know but if I cohort the sleepless nights and nappies then it's less work overall plus they'll entertain each other in the long run. ( either that or I'm a sucker for punishment!) 22 mths between big ones and it was fun ( looking back through those rose tinted glasses!!!)

VioletIbiza88 · 17/04/2015 16:48

I've done us a lucky list, will change it if its wrong

Issie - 18/19th 24th
Nicky - 24th
Looking - 26th
Sparkles - 26th
Violet - 29th
Maybe - 4th

Brooke113 · 17/04/2015 17:01

Can I ask you girls a question so I'm ready for next cycle, I bought the clear blue ov sticks that give you a circle if lh surge is not detected and a smiley face if it is, it says you don't have to test anymore once you get a smiley face, how many days after the smiley face would you ideally dtd?or would you continue to use the ov sticks until you see a circle again?

Brooke113 · 17/04/2015 17:03

Fab list Violet I am.a little sad I'm.not on it as I'm.out this month :( but I'm.also excited you everyone too :)

Issie339 · 17/04/2015 17:24

Haha I love that I have 3 dates on your list Violet- I'm obviously obsessing the most (3 times more than anyone else lols) Grin Thanks for the list.

Brooke- you need to dtd within 48 hours of first getting the smiley, it signals the start of your peak fertility window, so any time in that 48 hours is fine.

Issie339 · 17/04/2015 17:26

Sparkles- good to hear multiple babies is good fun, we're ttc no2 at the moment

VioletIbiza88 · 17/04/2015 18:14

Brooke - with the clear blue, you get a flashing smiley when the estrogen surge is detected. I'd start dtd then and after a certain number of days which varies from woman to woman a solid smiley face will appear. That's detected the LH surge. That means that ovulation is expected to happen within 24-36 hrs. Then the egg could live for 12-24 hrs. So if you got your first solid smiley at 7.30 on Monday, then I think the latest you could get pregnant up until would be about 19.30 on Wednesday. (I know its not that exact, but roughly).

I found a website that charts the % chance you will get pregnant based on what day you bd, which i thought was interesting. No idea if its true?
6 days pre ov - 0%
5 - 10%
4 - 16%
3 - 14%
2 - 27%
1 - 31%
Ov day - 33%

But are you sure your out and not just testing too early? Are you going to test again now? I would definitely recommend the clear blues. if i hadn't been using them I would definitely be out this month as i would have been dtd at completely the wrong time! Seriously i was off by about a week!

VioletIbiza88 · 17/04/2015 18:15

Oh an once you get a solid smiley face you don't test anymore!

nickynackynoo31 · 17/04/2015 18:20

fab list violet....you've done really well I keeping missing things ppl say and have to keep going back and looking what's been said lol.

I shouldn't of watched one born as it's mad me even worse lol...I keep saying to oh if I'm pregnant if I'm pregnant...lol he just keeps shaking his head Shock Shock haha x

VioletIbiza88 · 17/04/2015 18:36

Nicky - its weird to know think that's it it's all done now, nothing more we can do!!

VioletIbiza88 · 17/04/2015 18:37

*now think

Brooke113 · 17/04/2015 18:38

Violet I only recently bought the clearblue ones, I had an almost positive normal opk around day 11, didn't test on day 12 due to family circumstances, and then on day 13 it was completely nnegative, and so we're the next few days :( so think I ov'd around Cd12, which is strange for me as my cycles are between 32-34 days, so ovulating that early means I'm due Af in the next 3 days, the first response was negative and that can be used 6 days before AF, so I'm definitely out this month.

Trying to be positive and cheer myself up, I've painted my toes hot pink Grin

My clearblue OPKs don't say the face will flash hmm

VioletIbiza88 · 17/04/2015 18:54

Oh you might not have the dual hormone indicator then, that does estrogen and LH. If your cycle can be 34 days though, you should have ov'd on CD20 ish? It's strange and very annoying how our bodies like to change things up at the most inconvenient times!!!
