More of a faint shadow than a faint line

I can't even detect it in a photo but there is a faint shadow (not line) where the line should be. Is the shadow just part of the (eBay cheapie) test?

I didnt use fmu as was up most of the night with dc2 and weed all night.

By my calculations I'm 13dpo (normally have a short cycle/short luteal phase of 8 days) AF nowhere to be seen and the preAF cramps have subsided.

Is it worth getting mildly excited? What do you think?

Thanks.

Thanks

Yes I thought (hoped) that I'd be more chilled this time! Obviously not!

What tests are u using ? one step by any chance ? dont want to give u false hope but ive been testing all week on one steps and got a very very faint shadow of a line on each one (hardly noticeable on a photo had to take about 200 photos to be able to see it a tiny bit) was thinking evap as im anywhere between 15-17dpo and would have expected a darker line.
i bought 2 other brands of cheap tests and done them today along with a first response, an opk and a clearblue digital ovulation (poas addiction atm)
and all of them have given me a BFP ! theres no denying the lines but yet the one step is still giving me that faint shadow of a line...i could just have gotten a bad batch of them though !

good luck, ill try and upload a photo to show you if i can

kbbeanie · 26/03/2015 15:11

this is some of the tests ive done today all with same urine (not fmu) and the one step is the one at the bottom with the hcg written on it and as u can see a very very very faint line which only appeared after about 10 mins (so after the testing time) and has disappeared again !

infact that photo makes it look quite good tbh its been a lot fainter than that for most of the week i didnt even tell dp id seen it until i tested again today because i was convinced that i had imagined it !!

zippyswife · 26/03/2015 17:22

Hey beanie.

Massive congrats to you and thank you for taking the time to post. I love your poas addiction. When I got my BFP with ds1 I did a good dozen for the following fortnight! Just couldn't believe it!! Such an exciting time for you!!

For me- after my 'experiment' of using water in one of the tests as well as FMU my 'shadow/faint line' on my urine was the same as the water test. So I'm thinking I'm well out of the game. I'm not sure if the brand I've used- just cheap off eBay (or was it Amazon I can't even remember now!!)

Thank you for being so kind as to post! And I love the myriad of sticks photo!!! You must keep that!

Zippy I've attached my fainter than faine negligible line .... Proper test next day gave me a screaming positive!! Your not out till your out xxx

zippyswife · 26/03/2015 17:43

Thank you Mrs!

I can't face the disappointment of actually buying a test doing it and finding out I'm not! Such a kick! I guess AF will turn up at some point. ... Don't get me wrong I'm sure I'll use another of my cheapis tests on my FMU tomorrow (and the next day and until they run out!!)! I'll be sure to update if anything exciting occurs!

zippy again not to get ur hopes up but i found the ic to be crap even the sensitive ones.

i tested 5 days before af on some cheap.home bargains tests and saw a shadow, enough to convince me i had a bfp but probably no1 else. next day i bought a 2 pack of asdas own, only about £4 and got a much stronger line. 2 days after that got a cbdigi as all the feint lines werent enough for dp and day before af due got 2-3 weeks pregnant. received some ic about the same time and lines were really really feint even tho so clear on all other tests. good luck for tomo Thanks

zippyswife · 26/03/2015 21:30

Thanks ginger

What does ic stand for?

I really think it'll be a negative but can't resist dreaming!!

Having said that boobs aching and I'm starting to get cramps again so could be AF....

Dh better get this test on his way home (he's out for work drinks so....)

Ic is Internet cheapies and mine were really faint untill I was around 6 weeks x

zippyswife · 26/03/2015 22:33

I dug around in my bathroom bin, as you do. And I can't seem to see even a faint line on my discarded ones. Maybe ttc has sent me so over the edge this time that I've imagined lines!?!

And.... Madder still. I went to do another ic (now I know what that means- thanks mrs) and I can't find them. So either I've misplaced them (house isn't that big) or they've vanished. Either way I'm feeling like I'm imagining the whole thing!

OP posts:
mrsfazruns · 27/03/2015 07:18

Did DH get you a test!?

zippyswife · 27/03/2015 07:19

No dh didn't get one. I can't even find the ics either!

I will buy one this avo and update. I'm 15dpo so I don't need FMU!? Is that right?

OP posts:
mrsfazruns · 27/03/2015 07:25

I don't know ..... Ima POAS addict and use all sorts of time urine!!! I'm only 6dpo and desperate to do ic even though I know it will be negative lol x

zippyswife · 27/03/2015 07:30

Fingers crossed for you mrs. Holding out is hard!!

OP posts:
gingerbreadmam · 27/03/2015 08:39

zippyswife · 27/03/2015 13:15

mrsfazruns · 27/03/2015 13:51

Well that's just rubbish!!! Sorry it's not the answer yku wanted!! The whole TTC thing is so stressful!!

I am 6dpo and so hoping for the BFP this month and already symptom watching is driving me mad!! PLUS got a 2nd temp spike this morning and positive OPK which are "signs" apparently but know I'll be disappointed when Mother Nature calls x

zippyswife · 27/03/2015 13:59
