Taking Charge Of Your Fertility book

How many of you have read this? I got it yesterday and I've nearly finished reading already- it is so interesting and I've learned so much and my body and fertility. I've been snooping around TTC forums for 7 months now and never quite understood what people meant by charting/temping and cervical mucus. It's helped me to realise we may have been having sex at the wrong times each month (I've been using an app to gauge it, but now I'm going to pay more attention to my body)
I enjoyed reading it so much that I wanted to tell all my friends about it, as there are lots of things about my cycle I didn't know (I was on the pill for 11 years and I'm 27 now, so can't remember how my cycles were as a teen)
I'm feeling more positive about TTC now rather than feeling worried about starting to chart and causing more stress! Has anyone else read it and what do you make of it?

I read this book years and years ago and like you, found it really taught me a lot about my body. I felt, just like like title - that I took charge of my fertility. It's good to know what your body is up to.

I read it years ago so I don't know if it's changed much. I also used to be on their forums. I'd just be careful about being to obsessed with the charting.

I remember feeling like the world had come to an end because I had to wee at 4.30am and that it would screw up my morning temps. It's easy to become obsessed with it.

I got this book when ttc DC1 and also with the one I'm currently pg with. I thought it was brilliant. Really opened my eyes to how my body worked and allowed me to tune into my cycles. For dc1 I charted for 3 months after stopping the pill and watched my cycles normalise then got pg in the second cycle after officially ttc. Took 3 months with this one.

Obviously I'll never know for sure and I speak only for myself but I like to think it helped me to conceive easily both times.

Good luck!

I bought an older edition from ebay, there has been an updated version, although I think it's minimal. Lunar1 I'm hoping that by beginning to chart I won't become obsessed, but that it will become a normal part of my daily routine (like my running and diet) and use it to understand my body. I'm also considering, if we are successful at getting pregnant, using the method for contraception.
We've been trying 7 months since I came off the pill, and we've had a few stressful months and what with my body readjusting I shouldnt be too surprised we haven't been successful yet! I'm hoping to just find out that I am actually ovulating! :-)

I started reading this book last week and love it so far. It is really interesting to learn about how to monitor your own body and I really hope that once I start doing it that I will become more aware of what is going on. Up until now I have been using opk sticks which I assumed where always right and the best way to monitor these things but I am looking forward to trying something new.

Good luck ladies - it would be good to hear how everyone gets on with it. I am a bit anxious about identifying the different types of CM so would love to know how everyone gets on with it!
