Hi All,
I'm new to this group, I tested positive on my OPK 2 days ago and yesterday the line was fainter? Does this mean i have ovulated already within 1 day? Also i don't seem to have any cervical mucus so will this stop me from getting pregnant? Its all so confusing, i was pregnant 3 years ago so i hope i can still conceive

Hi

OPK strips - the line would be darker than the test line - then you would ovulate 24-48 hours later.

If the result line is fainter - then you could assume you have already ovulated.

Having no CM wont stop you from getting pregnant - but it could make it harder for the sperm on their travel to the egg.

everythingcrossed GP told me every 2-3 days throughout the cycle.
If you have regular cycles I would not use the sticks every cycle. I found myself getting a bit stressed about it all, especially if I got a smiley face on a day DH was away.

I used the sticks 3 times.
First on my post mirena cycle (Mirena came out on Day 4 of cycle 1) so that I had an idea of whn my LH surge was. That cycle was abnormally short, only lasted 24 days and I had the smiley face on Day 11.

Then I used the sticks twice more,
-in cycle 2, the LH surge was on day 12 (that was a normal cycle and lasted 28 days).
-in cycle 8-( it was day 12 again of a 28 day cycle).

I got my BFP on cycle 9, no sticks, and one shot of DTD on day 11 as my DH and I were away from each other during the ovulation week. Really thought I had no chance!

everythingcrossed it is easy to become obsessed. I think you will now have a good idea about your LSH surge day and ovulation (12-24 hrs after that) if you have regular cycles, continue to keep a diary for your cycle as well so you know length, regularity of your cycle and then DTD every 2-3 days in the ovulation week if you can (I can't handle DTD every day and DH is away throughout the week anyways so not possible). No need to pee on a stick every month and spend all that money.

I bought a tiny little pink diary with sparkly bits where I wrote Day 1 (first day of period) Day 2 of my cycle, etc plus little notes about DTD, possible ovulation etc. Made me feel like I was in charge of something without getting obsessive about ovulation sticks etc. Knowing about your cycle is much more helpful than too much techy stuff. Some women swear by cervical mucus recommended in the book Taking charge of your fertility (I don't use tampons so not accustomed to putting my fingers up myself). I preferred to pee on a stick for a few cycles to see what was going on with me. hehe.

so basically learn about yourself and your cycle. have regular sex throughout - much more fun if you aren't stressing although if your DH is away at times throughout the week like mine things get more tricky, don't smoke (at all) or drink (if you can help it), keep a healthy weight and focus on other things in your life.

If you are 35 or older and nothing happens after 6 months, see your GP. Younger than that, go for a year.
