TTC #1 for 9 months and no luck so far... Blush

Never really been one for regular periods, apart from when I was on the pill until 2013. Had the copper coil fitted then but due to ongoing and ooooongoing bleeding, had it removed in May last year and started TTC but no luck (despite peeing on a bajillion ovulation sticks). Periods are still stupidly irregular - since then, anything from 18 to 72 days...currently on cd68 so pretty damn close to my record! Vast majority of cycles have been anovulatory I'm pretty sure, so that doesn't help it.

GP has agreed to do some blood tests (day 3-5 and day 21) to check my hormones but I know I need to lose weight before being referred to the infertility clinic. I know I need to lose weight anyway - 3st to meet the "BMI below 30" referral requirement and I'm trying but it's damn hard to shift it!

So yeah, just need in need of a bit of encouragement really. Sad

Hi there, im going into cycle #8. I guess im lucky in that I have regular periods but it's frustrating that nothing is happening. I did take soy isoflavones this cycle and I believe I had a chemical pregnancy, which in a weird way has been quite encouraging as I guess it shows I am able to co concieve.

Hope you gp checks turn out good. Dont stress too much about your weight, I know a few couples where both partners are over weight and they have had successful pregnancies.

Ttc really is tough!

Mignonne89 I feel your pain. Try to stay positive. It is hard and it is annoying when people tell you to stay positive but you have to be kind to yourself. I just shared my story on www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2312292-Some-good-news

Lots of women get pregnant with a BMI >30. However losing weight will be good for you (and future baby) and is something you have control over. The blood tests will shed some more light on what is happening.

Sending hugs. TTC is not easy!! I am annoyed by all the sex ed classes I had as a teen that made it seem so easy to get pregnant..... just that one time. yeah right. not for most people!!!
