Great Book - The Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant

Just thought I'd share this as it's been a really reliable guide along with Taking Charge of Your Own fertility.

It covers everything from what to start thinking about when ttc (vitamins, diet etc) how to track cycles and pinpoint best times for getting pregnant and best ways to do it, proper research on fertility and age (which is actually pretty enlightening and not as doom laden as you'd think) what to do if you're having trouble getting pregnant, etc

The author, Jean Twenge, is a professor of Psychology, but more interestingly has a long background in stats and research. As a result, she's looked at a lot of the info quoted to many of us ttc and debunked it - i.e. the fact that your fertility falls off a cliff after 35 is based on research that's about 200 years old.

It's written well and not 'sciency'so is really easy to read.

Thankyou for the recommendation, just downloaded it on my Kindle

Ditto, winging its way to my kindle now, thanks!

I definitely recommend this book embarking on their ttc journey for the first time. I read it early last year, and found it very informative.

That having been said, for anyone who has been ttc for 6 months or longer, this probably isn't the book for you. After 6 months, I very much doubt it will teach you anything you don't already know.

Apologies - that should have read 'to anyone embarking on their ttc journey for the first time'.
