Thank you everyone! Eek. It's just began to dawn upon my husband that I'm pregnant! He is very happy! Im beginning to wonder if the fluttering I was experiencing was a symptom after all. Fingers crossed for everyone. I hope you all get your bfps! I'm so surprised (don't really know why!) that the tesco tests picked it up first. This is the first time I've ever been pregnant so no idea what to expect! Thanks for all your support x

Sparkly we used the syringe when trying to conceive ds2, we'd been ttc for almost a year then and we read up a bit about it and gave it a go ourselves, we thought it hadn't worked but 3 days before our first app at the fertility clinic I got my bfp Smile

Huge congratulations Claire - sorry I missed you off the list - will change it when I update it!
FX for a happy and healthy nine months :)

Thanks for your advice on my chart girls! First month temping so not sure what to expect! Have sore bbs (not a usual symptoms for me), really hot today and yesterday and a bit dizzy when standing up too fast, really thirsty all the time, tingly bbs on occasion, and really tired (but that could just be the time of year). Also worried as had a cp last time I got a bfp so think I'll wait for a little while before testing...if I can!!!

Huge congrats Claire!!!! Must be such a strange but exciting feeling knowing you have got a bfp...

Frolic can I just ask if you are taking EPO along with the medicine and if so what dosage?

6DPO here...for the stats my bfp date is wrong as I ovulated later than I thought...so new bfp date of 10th December according to ff. Thanks!!

Afternoon all

Congrats Claire Smile

Af has buggered off so roll on the next week when ov kicks in.

DH has given me a telling off, telling me to chill out a bit more about the whole ttc stuff. I really don't feel like I'm obsessing that much as I feel like we need to be giving ourselves the best shot possible each month. The more I read then the more I know and knowledge means power in my book. But he seems to think we need to to step back from being too technical and clinical about the whole thing and just relax and let nature do it's thing. Whilst I agree with this, I can't help but think we could waste potential cycles by not doing a certain amount of planning. Whilst I'd love to say we could dtd eod, work and life gets in the way making this impossible.

Hmm I'm just feeling a bit down that it's taking longer then we both thought. I'm such a practical pro active person that I feel the need to take control of situations, such as ttc.

There is such a fine line between staying calm and controlled and behind obsessive!

Hi All!

Sorry, am a bit behind as didn't realise there was a new bus - oops!

CD 23 here (of usually 31-32 day cycle), AF due around 11th-12th Dec. Approx 6 dpo and I've been getting mild period pain-like cramping last night and today - anyone experienced that before? It's too early for AF cramps...

Report
Shootthemoon · 03/12/2014 13:00

blue I sympathise with both you and your DH really. I knew so little about the whole thing before DC1 and genuinely thought that unprotected sex anytime would probably result in pregnancy. It was such a shock when it didn't happen immediately the first time. So I feel like knowledge is essential, but I can also see that things get too technical sometimes.

Fwiw, I think it's all very well to have the technical knowledge, but conception isn't an exact science and all bodies are different. You may be able to look back at a record and say, ok, we DTD on x, y, z dates and I ovulated on z so that must be it. But you don't know it wasn't sperm hanging around from x or y that did it! Ov can be late, temping can be off because of user error or illness or whatever. We're not in controlled lab experiments and very few of us are scientists, so it's very hard to be sure of what happens in the end. A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing sometimes and the stories where people were trying from days 12-14 based on textbooks, only to finally give it a go on days 8-10 and fall pg, really stick with me.

I do know though that when DC1 was conceived it was the first month during which DH and I were in the same country for the right two weeks, and we made the most of it Grin . So barring extenuating circumstances I think it's best to DTD when you can manage/feel like it and keep an eye out for signs of OV, but not stress too much.

(ask me again if I don't get a BFP in 6-12 months and I may well have a different answer!)

hc I get mild cramping about a week before AF arrives, and it's only something I've noticed in the last week or so. However, I distinctly remember posting on the threads when TTC DC1 that I was sure I was out that month because I could feel AF cramping starting up. Next day, no AF, and BFP!

Report
hc899 · 03/12/2014 13:36

That's really interesting Shootthemoon. I tend to always have cramps when AF is due but never so much 10 days in advance, which is where I am at the moment. I don't trust my body at the moment though, cos I think it could quite easily be playing tricks on me - I won't believe anything until I get a BFP!

Report
Shootthemoon · 03/12/2014 13:40

sorry I meant I've only noticed it in the last year or so, not week!

I am sure I never used to have a noticeable cramp feeling, and I'm sure it's not ovulation as it's too late, and days after EWCM appears. Crazy bodies.

Keep a note of the cramping sensation though - it might turn out to be a regular feature in your cycle which you're only just noticing. Fx that it is a sign of implantation though :)

Dozygirl · 03/12/2014 14:04

hc899 I never used to get cramps, just used to come on with no warning, since ttc I get cramps sometimes as early as 4dpo. U can get cramps and have a BFP though. Both AF and pregnancy symptoms overlap unfortunately.

blue I still keep getting people telling to relax and stop overthinking or obsessing over ttc and then it'll happen. Firstly it's impossible not to think about it and secondly I'm not sure I agree with that. I know u shouldnt rely 100% on opks and temping but it certainly helps me to pinpoint everything because although I aim for eod and then everyday over fertile window the reality is just not doable. It's tiring and life gets in the way sometimes.
Plenty of ppl plan a pregnancy and it works out for them so why shouldn't it for us?

Report
Blue500 · 03/12/2014 14:43

Thanks for your comments and for understanding Shoot and Dozy - I think I just need to be more rational about it all, and your absolutely right about it not being done in a controlled lab and that there are so many variables to it.

Hmm I really don't know what to do. I roughly know the dates that I ovulate but I might continue with opk anyway for peace of mind, and any obsessing I might just try and keep to myself and not let on to DH! I have acupuncture on Friday so I'm hoping that will help me relax from it all as well! Smile

Sparkly, it will be my first time for Accupuncture. I've waited quite some time for this appointment. She is Rita West affiliated and is very busy. I am hoping she can work her magic on meGrin

Spinning it will be my 3rd session. My lady is really lovely and seems to know her stuff. She looked at my tongue and told me 5 things about myself that she would have no way of knowing! It's really relaxing and I would definitely recommend it. Although it is pricey which I resent. So I'm just doing it for 5 weeks to see me through this cycle and then may pick it up again in a few months time. Good luck with yours Smile

Hc899 I normally get cramps the day before AF but I've just been looking through my notes I've been keeping every day since ovulation and I had mild cramps 2dpo. I wrote it was like a dull low ache. I also wrote my stomach was making really loud gurgling noises like I was hungry but I wasn't! I'm definately pregnant. I bought a digital test this afternoon and plainly states pregnant! I think I still couldn't quite believe those faint lines!

I really do believe this is a lucky bus. Baby dust to everyone xx
