Newbie here - 34 TTC for the first time!

Hi all, I thought I would join here for support as most of my friends have had babies and so I feel like I need other people to talk about the TTC stuff!
I am 34, my partner is 30 & we have been together for 11 years! We have just started TTC literally since the weekend! I know it could be a long old journey and I am hoping it isn't, but I have no idea about how fertile I am. But I obviously worry because of my age. But my cycles are usually spot on but very short, usually 22/23 days, so I have a cycle chart where I know when I am most fertile and ovulate etc.. So I suppose we just keep going until it happens. Keeping everything crossed it happens sooner rather than later but I am not expecting miracles either. I have been off the pill for the last year also, as I just wanted it out of my system.
Is there anyone else similar to me, that fancies being my TTC buddy? :)

Hi ladies, can I join you too, I am 34 and my husband is 28 , came off the pill on January , this is our fourth month in trying, been on the pill for nine years so it really screwed with my cycles, second month in taking seven seas trying for a baby to try and regulate them and stop mid cycle spotting, so far so good

Hi Angela, welcome :) good luck to you too! I am only on cycle 1 so not getting hopes up just yet but you never know! Got to stay positive! Looking forward to your updates.

I am trying to keep positive too, think it's the best way too, hoping we get our bfp soon and big congratulations Teenie x

Thanks ladies we are thrilled and still a little in shock if I'm honest. It's still early days so trying not to get too carried away but we are telling both sets of parents today. Feeling nervous lol.

Yes very true...I am just waiting. But no twinges or sore boobs or anything, so I feel like AF will appear out of nowhere in next few days. But we'll see and...it's only first month of trying I suppose!

Yeah Teenie i am on the pregtober bus, i ovulated later so not sure if i should be straddling the November bus too

Hi Clara,

With short cycles it is unlikely that you are ovulating so late that you are 3dpo at CD18. Ov usually occurs 12-16 days BEFORE your period starts.

Hello all, thought I would update. I got a BPF and am now 4 + 4 It's been about 4 months since the MMC and our second month of trying since then, so we have been lucky to conceive so quickly. I am exhausted already. The baby didn't develop last time, so I'm hoping that the fact I'm so knackered so soon, is a sign that the baby is growing big and strong.

I'll be 12 weeks on 23 December, so hoping for a nice Christmas present this year.

I'm on CD30 so over 5 days late so I need to test but scared...but I will tomorrow... Eek.

clarabell - five days late sounds promising. Do you usually have regular cycles? FX for you! You have the patience of a saint to wait this long before testing.

I can't believe it...! It happened first cycle :) I had a feeling I was as had bad cramps for last 5 days! Just got to keep fingers crossed now! I hope all of you have good news too soon! X

Ahoy! Fwiw, we'd been on the pill (and copper coil for a while - I was paranoid about accidents!) for the entire 15yrs we'd been together. Last few years it was cerazette so almost never had a period. Came off thinking it might take a while at age 35 especially as we weren't really trying particularly hard; had one immediate bleed and then pfb just like that. Textbook and rather easy pregnancy/birth and healthy baby. Now considering TTC for no2 at me age 36/37. Good luck with your mission!

Hi - can i join in too?? so pleased so see so much conversation that is literally identical to the thoughts in my head! I am 31 and hubby is 25! I had my first son (by accident method) at 13 - so he's 17 now and terrified everything is dried up down there! So coil came out 6 weeks ago - had 1 bleed and 1 period and due to ovulate this week! So excited but terrified at the same time - first time round was so traumatic!!

I'm 33, hubby is 38, ttc no1. Was on pill 15yrs with no real break. Came off pill in May, then....
Cycle 1 - 38 days
Cycle 2 - 27 days (started temping, no ov as no clear temp shift)
Cycle 3- 30 (ov cd16)
Cycle 4 - 29 (ov cd16)
Cycle 5 - 26 (ov cd13)
Cycle 6 - current cycle cd 27 (dpo12) ov cd15.

Temp rising even higher today (and normally have a slight indication of af on way day or two before due with a Slightly browny tinge to cm. But nothing so far.) AF due thurs or fri (13 or 14 day luteul phases). And been Having lots of sticky or creamy cm.

Poas last night and thought saw faint line. Repeated with first urine this morn was then more unsure of myself, just done another and think I see something again. Thought I'd attach to see what you all think, bottom is last test just taken. Bathroom light is very bright / seemed to bleach photos so attached tests in bit of a shadow as think you can see it better in those. Am I hopefully imagining things. Will wait a few more days to try again... Thoughts???? Xx
