Hi everyone I have just joined netmums so this is my very first post. I'm just wondering if anybody can help. I'm 25 and this is my first month of TTC. My cycle varies from around 28 - 35 days. I have never charted or done any ovulation tests. However I have downloaded the app for iPhone maybe baby and I'm going off knowing my body and that to a certain extent. I had sharp ovulation pains yesterday (Monday 13th) which would have been CD 17 which only lasted a day. We had sex Saturday and Sunday and near enough every single day the start of the month. I also had slightly stretchy mucus around time I think I ovulated (although not as much ad normal) today the CM is not as stretchy.i know it's a bit of a long shot but has anyone ever experienced this and got BFP ? Do I have a gd chance? Thank you so much in advance

Louise it looks like you have a good chance if you had sex the 2 days before ovulation but for any normal couple it can take 6 months to a year to get pregnant.

I would enjoy the process for now and dtd every other day for most of the month if you can.

Next month try opks so you can narrow down when you ovulate.

Hi blueberry thanks for your response :) yes I think I need to defintley try OPKs for better understanding of when I exactly ovulate. I know and I'm so impatient haha but still only really early days. Thank you

Assuming you are ovulating as normal and your partner has no fertility issues you stand a 25% chance of falling pregnant every cycle.

louisejanep · 14/10/2014 15:55

That's quite a low statistic isn't it. Would being 25 affect my fertility much or not? I read somewhere that it is peak fertility.

Even with peak fertility and being young it can take a few months.

My advice is to have sex everyday in the week before ovulation, then on the day you ovulate, then the two after you ovulate. You need stamina but as long as your partner does not have low speem count, this should cover all your bases.

Thank you. so far this month it has been on the run up to ovulation not on the day or 2 days left as partner is now away

Well it's a one in four chance which I think is very good!! There are lots of variables, how fertile you are, the virility of your partner, the timing of sex. You are right that you are at peak fertility, so I'm sure it won't take long. At 37 I fell pregnant first month of trying and had sex twice before OV.
