Ohlordy and mrs e I have all crossed for u both, please rest up
Sunbathing gd luck with ur midwife, I hope all goes well :-)
Here I keep vary between thinking I have a symptom to giving myself a right telling off for thinkin it. I am trying to stay hopeful. Ur realistic this cycle, we did all we could i know that much not sure if that will make it better or worse it I don't get a bfp. Cd23 here 6dpo.

gennibugs · 19/10/2014 18:20

lucie I hope you ov soon. Ttc always involves waiting of some sort! Thanks for updating my stats.

spinning we have the same bfp due date now. FX!

english sounds like an early night is in order for you! I hate hangovers.

Good to see you nordic. I've yet to try soy but think i know there are some soy experts on here!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 19/10/2014 18:52

Thankyou everybody, you're all so lovely. It's so good to have your familiar voices in my head coz at the moment I'm finding it hard to be thrilled as I'm so ill. So I need you all to think iton injection vibes at 8.45am! Grin Come on the power of positive thinking should surely make the Dr realise 3 years of untreated aneamia is only going to get worse this pregnancy without them. Only other option is a blood transfusion and I'm not dead keen on that.

Nordic I was on soy 2 months and it worked second month although first month got me in a really good pattern with the ups and downs of a cycle. My only worry for you is that it would make your already heightened symptoms even worse. So first month I chose days 3-7 of my cycle. Tesco own brand, starting at 120mg-rising so that the last day was at 200mg. The second month I brought it forward so I did days 2-6. Same again 120, 120, 160, 200,200. But you can take later to hopefully mature an egg ripening. Think the idea of earlier is it might release more than one so more chance of catching one. What cd are you? I bet kitty is watching she will be along with the facts! Grin

Frolicacid · 19/10/2014 19:15

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!
Still no period for me! Just tried dtd to see if a good orgasm brings it on. Now off for a pub supper to keep me away from google!

mrsE, I hope they give you that injection tomorrow.

spinningirl10 · 19/10/2014 19:21

Yay Genni, hope its good news for us bothGrin

Nordic, MrsE has done a good job of explaining but if you want further info if you put soy into the search bit there's been two threads in conception this week about soy and there's lots of info there. Sorry I can't copy and paste.

MrsE I'm keeping everything crossed for you that you get your injection tomorrow.

Soya Isoflavones are derived from soya beans. They have been dubbed “the natural Clomid,”
As they work in pretty much an identical manner.
Just like Clomid; Soya Isoflavones work by tricking your body into thinking its low on oestrogen. Your body then kick starts production of FSH (Follicle-stimulating hormone) followed by LH (Luteinizing hormone) Which are both necessary to release Healthy Eggs during ovulation.
FSH is released at the start of the menstrual cycle; it stimulates the growth of an immature egg into a fully matured egg. When the egg has matured your body then releases a surge of LH. LH is the hormone that tells the ovary to release the egg.

WHEN?
You take Soy Isoflavones, like Clomid, on either CD 1-5 , 2-6, 3-7 , 4-8 or 5-9.
If you take soy Isoflavones during the later time bracket, for example CD5-9, you shall strengthen the egg that has already started growing producing a healthier egg. The earlier in your cycle you take It, the higher your chance of releasing multiple eggs but these eggs will not be as mature as the eggs grown from taking Soya later.
A lot of women will choose the middle cycle (3 -7) allowing time for a strong and healthy egg to develop without erasing the chance of a second egg being developed and released.

1-5 = you produce more eggs, and ovulate sooner, with a stronger ovulation.

2-6 = you produce more eggs that usual, but not as many as taking it 1-5. Eggs may be more mature, and ovulation will be slightly more strong than 1-5.

3-7 = The best of both worlds, a few more eggs, and all eggs will be strong & mature, and ovulation will be alot stronger than 1-5.

4-8 = No more eggs will be produced, but the ones already there, will be matured alot more than usual, and ovulation will be very strong. Ovulation may only be brought forward a teeny bit.

5-9 = You'll have one very mature strong egg, from the ones you already produced on your own. Ovulation will either happen when it usually does, or a few days later, but your egg will be of great quality.

DOSE?
The dose is really down to you but you should always use the lowest amount that works for you.
With Clomid the starting dose is 100mg. Soya Isoflavones are said to be half the strength of Clomid, so it makes sense for the starting dose to be 100mg.
The trouble with 100mg of soya is that the capsules tend to come as 40mg. So you have a choice of starting at 80mg.
Some women change the dose on different days. So they may start at 120mg for the first 3 days then give an extra boost for the last 2 days with 160mg.

As I have said though, use the lowest dose possible for yourself. If you ovulate using 120mg/day stick to that for a few cycles. GIVE IT A CHANCE. It is said that it takes 3months to get the full benefits of what you are taking. NEVER EXCEED 200mg/day.

OTHER BENEFITS?
The following potential health benefits are attributed to Isoflavones:
Reduce heart disease risk
Protect against prostate problems
improve bone health
Reduce cancer risk

SIDE EFFECTS?
As with any medication, taking Soya Isoflavones may cause side effects such as:
Nausea
Headaches
Dizziness
Hot flushes
Night sweats
Cramping
Diarrhoea
Lack of fertile cm
Thrush
Obviously the higher the dose you take the higher your chance of experiencing side effects.

DO NOT TAKE SOYA ISOFLAVONES WITHOUT CONSULTING A DOCTOR IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Breast cancer, hepatic disease, prostate cancer, kidney disease, taking hormone treatments, thyroid disease, and allergies to soy, peanuts or other legumes.
Soy Isoflavones should not be taken while breastfeeding or pregnant.
Soy Isoflavones may interact with the following medications; androstenedione, antibiotics, clomiphene, DHEA, contraceptives and other female hormones, finasteride, raloxifene, red clover, tamoxifen, testosterone and other male hormones, thyroid hormones, and toremifene.
NOTE: Just like Clomid, Soya Isoflavones may not help some women at all!
Although research carried out on FF has shown that 77% of women taking Soya Isoflavones on the stated days at the stated doses, got there BFP on their first cycle taking them!

Yay there's the info Nordic, I think it was Kitty that originally posted it.

TerrysNo2 · 19/10/2014 19:45

77% Spinning?!?!? Shock

KittyVonCatsington · 19/10/2014 19:50

Nordic - this does have to be your decision to take Soy Isoflavones, but I do know the hell you went through regarding the NK cell steroid treatment so I honestly don't know if it will help or not.
I do know, like me, you don't have a problem with fertilisation but with implantatation. For me, that was a combination of late ovulation and poor progesterone production in the TWW.
If you wanted to give it a try, and you know I owe Soy Isoflavones big time Grin then yes, take 100mg just before you get into bed, on CD 2, then up it to 150mg before bed CD 2-3, before taking 200mg before bed CD4-5.
You will reduce symptoms that way but be prepared for mammoth morning wees!

Just one thing though, I would stop taking Pregnacare the month you take Soy. The massive high doses of everything may very well be contributing to the nausea etc. that you have been experiencing. It sent me doolally! I would just take 400mg of Folic Acid.

Good luck, my lovely!

spinningirl10 · 19/10/2014 19:57

Terry, I'm on my 2nd soy cycle so I wasn't in that 77% but Kitty was and MrsE Grin

Oh I really want to be on that bfp list!!! Please let the bfp fairy visit us all Grin

spinningirl10 · 19/10/2014 19:59

Oops meant to say Lucie, thank you so much for doing such a fab job with the stats list Grin

TerrysNo2 · 19/10/2014 20:11

I read on one of the threads that it can mess up your cycles. My cycles are really consistent (as long as it's not post mc or ectopic!) but as I now only have one tube I am very interested in the possibility of increasing the number of eggs released.

gennibugs · 19/10/2014 20:12

I am at 77% too. Maybe I should be brave and try it....

Thanks for the stats lucie

gennibugs · 19/10/2014 20:13

Should read I am Shock at 77% too!

spinningirl10 · 19/10/2014 20:23

Terry, I'm on my second soy cycle, both months I've taken them cd3-7 to try and improve egg quality. For first cycle it didn't alter ov, got +opk on cd11 as normal. This cycle I had +opk on cd9, very early. I thought it was a false positive as soy can do this but carried on using opk's and they were all negative. Both cycles gave me the strongest line on the opk that I've ever seen. Sorry if I've said all this before, I'll shut up about my soy cycles now Grin

spinningirl10 · 19/10/2014 20:25

Oh, one more thing, don't buy soy in holland and Barrett, the dosage is far too high and is for ladies in menopause. Large tesco stores and Amazon have them. Mine are 50mg tablets.

TheGrandHighWitch · 19/10/2014 20:36

Thanks for the updated stats lucieloos (hopefully I have spelt your name right. Am on phone so can't check).

I am on my second try of soy isoflavones this month. I meant to take them on days 2 to 6 but forgot so planned to take them on days 3 to 7 but forgot again and ended up taking them on days 4 to 8. My ovulation date seems to have stayed the same but seems a lot stronger if all the positive opks are anything to go by.

spinningirl10 · 19/10/2014 20:40

Just a thought but maybe on the next bus we should all add onto the end of our stats if we're using soy. It will be interesting to see how many of us it works for.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 19/10/2014 20:52

In also on my second cycle of soy. I took it to bring ov forward and it's definitely done that. Last cycle was cd 18 this cycles cd14, as opposed to cd23 the cycle before!!
There's quite a few of us who've taken it this month, there's got to be a BFP or 2 (or all of us!) there!

Boosk · 19/10/2014 21:00

Oh goodness, I'm so behind but had a lovely afternoon with friends not thinking about ttc at all. Wonderful distraction.

flower and genni join us on Wednesday, Fx it's not too early for you.

sunbathing thank you for the positive vibes on being one cycle closer to the bfp. Hope you get some reassurance from the midwife.

MaG sorry for the bfn. Fx you get out of limbo soonThanks

MrsE will be thinking iron-y thoughts for you tomorrow morning.

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 19/10/2014 21:29

I am 'wow' at those soy stats!

Sorry for those who got BFNs. I hope November is your month.

OhLordy, my chemical was last month. I got a BFP on 10dpo but the line got fainter and fainter on subsequent days. On 13dpo the line was barely visible. I kept temping each morning and on 14dpo my temp had plummeted to below the coverline. I knew as soon as I saw it what it meant and all tests that day were BFNs. I started bleeding the next day and it was constant, like a normal period but with more clots and a bit more painful.

I've got everything crossed for you as what you experienced doesn't sound similar at all. Get to your EPU if you can, for a definite answer.

I am still in the game! My temps are still high. My BFPs are still showing, with some being fainter than others, but not getting very very very faint. I'm putting it down to some morning wees being more dilute than others as I'm not very consistent in how much I drink.

I also started getting horrendous night sweats two nights ago, which I don't remember from my other pregnancies, but google tells me it's a definite early pregnancy symptom. I'm 15dpo today and now officially 'late'. Aiming for three more high temps, then next week I'd like to see a 2-3 weeks result on a clearblue digi, then I want to get to six weeks before I call the midwife and that it how I'm taking this - little steps at a time.

Frolicacid · 19/10/2014 21:59

Wow!! Soy stats are amazing! I might give them a try next cycle. Does anyone have any experience or advice about using them if you cycles are pretty regular? Mine are usually bang on 32-33 days. Until now that is! If my period arrives I think I may order some and take the later, egg strengthening dose. At 34 I do worry a bit about the quality of my eggs.

We just had a lovely pub supper and had a good laugh making plans for all the things we can do in coming months if I'm not up the duff. Just what I needed. Early night tonight and see what tomorrow brings. This limbo of no period and bfn's is frustrating, but I think I'll be happy whatever the outcome. As someone up thread said, every cycle is one closer to the BFP.

Dozygirl · 19/10/2014 23:04

Really hope u get an answer soon frolic but I'm glad u enjoyed your evening out. And no sign of AF after dtd must be a pretty good sign I'm sure.

Bit the bullet and bought my DP some male conception vitamins. They were right near the cranberry tablets I was purchasing so I figured why not. Should have seen his face, it was priceless. He's been sending a pic of them out on snapchat tho so he can't be that bothered about it. Don't know if it's too late to start taking them as I think ovulation is imminent but I guess there's no harm.

Interesting reading about the soy. I've seen a lot pop up on these threads but ignored it because I thought it was people with regular periods but as frolic asked, maybe it can help everyone. Anyway it's something else to add in if things don't work out. And yeah soy stats would be a great idea.

Treaclepie19 · 19/10/2014 23:10

Gah! I just ran into the bedroom being silly with DH, went to jump onto the bed and slipped and pulled my tummy. Now telling myself if anything had implanted it wouldve moved.
I think it's bedtime...
