Where are you OP? If you could go private there are other drugs instead of clomid. Also whilst taking clomid did you have day 21 tests to confirm ovulation?

ckd10 · 11/10/2014 17:42

sorry im new to this, whats OP? i wish i could go private with all my heart but the pennies just wont allow it, i had day 21 blood tests, scans at days 10, 13, and sometimes 15 to check my ovaries, still nothing x

And did you ovulate with clomid ok?

figgieroll · 11/10/2014 17:51

I saw a Specialist in Bristol who recommended clomid, then injectables if the clomid didn't work. I can't remember the exact price but it was a few hundred per cycle rather then a few thousand I think for the injectables. The initial consultation was a couple of hundred too though.

Oh i see, in wigan, yes i was ovulating but late, which is why i went for so many scans, ive just bought some soya isoflavones which have been recommended as a natural alternative to clomid, im sceptical though x

I know someone who had a clomid first baby, then lots of soya stuff, then had a natural second baby. I suspect diet could help a little bit for some people maybe?

Also I thought women could take clomid safely for up to a year?

figgieroll · 11/10/2014 18:20

I know it is heart breaking though.

ckd10 · 11/10/2014 18:56

well they told me that women can have upto 12 months clomid in any life time, i already had 6 months 2 years ago, thats how i concieved my first, i really and truly believed it would work this time too x

Is there any way you could save £15 a week so that you'd have enough cash to try other follicle stimulating drugs in a year or two?

ckd10 · 11/10/2014 20:03

we have already started saving, my worry is that im 34 now, what other drugs are available? x

I was offered injectables through the Bristol clinic. I was told that they are very effective and more heavy duty. Cycle would needed to be monitored to avoid over stimulation. Lots of sex.

Sorry I've forgotten drug names. My clomid/secondary infertility was 4 years ago
