Different results on different opks

I have been using the clearblue dual hormone tester for past 3 months but I am not convinced to its accuracy. It has been showing me as high fertility for past 3 days and this afternoon I took a boots opk, which didn't show a surge. I'm having sex anyway, but how can they show different results?

Exactly auntie !!! Thought all this opk stuff was supposed to take the guesswork out of it.. Clearly not

I've been getting no cm, which makes me question it all too! Think I'm going to go to the dr soon

Me neither .. Since I came off the pill it seems to have dissapered !! But I remember having it when on the pill because it struck me how much of it there was on the loo roll .. Typical isn't it !!!

Yaayyyy finally got my smiley...the ic didn't pick it up really a line but nowhere near as dark as the control so that's interesteing to know ! Time to hump it out I reckon lol x

Good luck Kate! Would it be worth continuing with the IC'S for a few days do you think, so you can see if you can get a positive off them? Might be an interesting experiment to see if/when different tests pick up the surge...

I've ended up going to docs, as we have been trying for a few months. Getting a blood test to see if I am ovulating....

I've now had 5 days of high but no peak / smiley face. As im only on cycle 2 I'm also using Boots OPks and according to them no LH surge yet. Hoping the old body will manage to perform in the next couple of days!

Hi joey :) keep testing as I had 4 days of flashys before I got my peak today and I'm cd 16 today which means I will probably ovulate cd17 possibly even cd18 which is later than I was expecting as I always used to have 28 day cycles before the pill ! What cd are you joeys and how long are your cycles normally ? Oh and still no ewcm for me yet lol

Ooooh, you're all making me jealous with your wanton POAS-ing! Only CD5 here, just waiting for af to shove off. Plan to start my POAS day 12 I think. Last cycle think I ov day 20 or 21 but my last 3 cycles have all got progressively shorter so don't want to miss anything!

Oh I love a good old POAS as much as the next girl and no orange you deffo don't want to miss anything !!! I started POAS at cd 7 this month as I wasn't sure how long my cycle was gonna be so I've had more POAS than I can handle.. Plus I'm 35 and holding my pee for 4 hours is like something off of the bloody krypton factor

Kate Wright , just wondered when you used the smiley ovulation test, I am using the clear blue ovulation test, think it's the top one in your photo, I have been testing since cd 6 and I am now on cd 14 and still no smiley face, I have been testing as soon as waken in the morning and making sure that I have not been to the toilet four hours before I test, it's making me think I may not be ovulating this month as I am yet to have ewcm, my cycles are all over the place from 20 to 28 day cycle, glad you got your smiley face and hope it leads to a BFP for you

Hi angel :) the top one is the original clearblue digital ( with pink button) I was using that one for my afternoon test and the dual one (bottom one) in the morning with my fmu.... So this morning I got my static smiley with the bottom tester because that one measures oestrogen as well and gives you a heads up by giving you flashing smiles first then I confirmed it with the pink one with second morning urine... I started testing on cd7 and didn't get a smiley till today cd16... So keep testing hun you still might get it !!!! Xx

I think we would have come away with some serious golds in that particular catagory Orange ... Sorry forgot to say to you angel are you testing twice a day as it's very easy to miss a surge if only testing once a day as lh hormone builds up after you wake up for a bit so best time to test is maybe 10 am and 6pm or around those sort of times...as far as I know only the dual hormone clearblue is designed to be used with fmu because it tests for oestrogen but any other opk is best used later in the morning... Thanks Kate, I am only testing once a day, In the morning , I will keep going, it's just so expensive to use the clearblue twice a day but I suppose it will give a better chance , thanks again x
