Hi, this may be a long one but I really need some help.

TTC but I have no idea how to work out my cycle or when I ovulate etc.

I had an implant for 3 years which expired Sept 13. During that time I had no AF at all, but by Feb of this year AF returned and became regular as clockwork.

The first day of last AF was 24th July. Then I had a very overdue implant removal in Early August. I was given Cerelle at that same appt, which I took for a week before deciding we were going to ttc.

I still haven't had a period since 24th July and have taken a few tests since then which were all negative, the last test I took was 2 weeks ago.

I have no idea where to start do I need to wait and see if AF returns? And why would it have stopped before I took Cerelle but I had no Pos results on a test?

Sorry if this is rambly and confusing. I'm pretty confused myself but appreciate any help or advice that anyone can give!

Hi OP, you should ovulate before your next period but it may be hard to pinpoint before your body settles down. Have sex every other days (or as often as you can) to be in with a chance before AF arrives.

There's a website called Fertility Friend where you can get daily lessons on spotting your fertility signs i.e. cervical fluid and charting your temperature. www.fertilityfriend.com

The Clear Blue ovulation predictor kits (OPK) are good but expensive. You might want to wait until your body's settled down a bit and then you can use the OPK to target sex around ovulation.

Good luck!

I also recommend the book 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' by Toni Weschler.

So your implant expired whilst in situ and your periods returned, but then once the implant was out they disappeared? I think I would be going back to the doctors about this and bit just sitting it out.

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah they returned in Feb and when my implant was removed that's when we decided to start ttc but since that month I've had nothing.
I thought maybe my periods returned due to implant expiring and also as I'm a little overweight and have been steadily loosing weight for over a year, but even though I am continuing to drop the weight I still have no sign of AF :

My partner asked me to make a docs app last night so I'll go find out what's going on.
All tests neg btw...taken a few since the loss of AF!

JPaws I think that's definitely the starting point here. Did the implant come out without issue, you don't think there could be anything left in your arm at all?

Do you shows signs of ovulation at all? EWCM for example?

JPaws93 · 09/10/2014 13:13

It came out fine no issues and I don't think there is anything left.
I have shown other signs of ovulating in the past two months, the pains I usually get and even had PMS-y symptoms. I'm usually quite in tune with my body that's why it's throwing me off so much!

I can see why it's so frustrating, particularly because you might assume you could be pregnant under these circumstances and yet the tests say no.

I know there is something they can prescribe that can induce a period and mind of 'reset' things. Might be worth suggesting that but if you really think you might be pregnant then ask for a blood test to rule it out.

Good luck! Xx
