A little bit of background - I had my implant out after the 3 years in may 2014, I had a light period in July and a normal period the beginning of august. Since then I have had nothing (about 6 weeks now), last week I decided to do a pregnancy test which came back negative. (im not sure if I done one too soon and maybe I should do another.) I have been to see my doctor who basically said that it can take up to 6 months for periods to go back to normal after having an implant taken out. And that if the test was negative it was correct. He advised me to come back if I haven't had a period before Christmas....
This is to long for me to wait, I cannot stand the uncertainty.
I will prob do another test this week just to double check, but if its the same as the first I am unsure about if I even will be able to conceive if I don't have any periods...
I thought after the two periods I had my body was going back to normal, but now its gone all out of sync again and my boyfriend is so desperate for a baby its heart-breaking trying to explain to him why I aint pregnant even thought I have non periods.....

Thanks in advance for any advise...

I waited 6 months for a withdrawal bleed after the implant. Since then I have had 7 periods in 16 months. They say your fertility can return to normal within days of having the rod out but they fail to mention that it can also take years for your body to right itself after messing with your natural hormones.
Don't lose heart though - most people seem to return to normal within a year and if not there are medications that can help. Also it's a good sign that you've had a few bleeds already.

You might want to get yourself some cheap pregnancy tests from ebay. They are dip strip tests like the ones doctors use. You can get about 20 for £3 and tests as often as you like to set your mind at ease for a few hours .
Alternatively, you could start taking your BBT, from which you can see a temp rise after ovulation has occurred. It seems like a faff but I really like the fact that even though I'm having another long cycle at least I know where I stand and don't have that 'am I aren't I pregnant?' uncertainty and much cheaper than the hundreds of HPT's and OV tests I've pissed away my money on these last 20ish months (losing track now).

I wouldn't beat yourself up over it. I didn't have the implant, but had the Depo injection, and I haven't had a period since stopping the injection in February this year. It's just your body getting used to the hormones again.

However, you can still ovulate without a period, so having sex 3 times a week is the sure fire way to get pregnant. Also, track your cervical mucus. It sounds weird, but if you google cervical mucus cycle it will teach you about when you are ovulating (and what signs your body shows). Or as above poster recommended, chart your basal body temperature.

But most importantly don't stress. That's will just make you go a little cuckoo if you stress over it.

And good luck :)
