Can anyone advise me? I'm new to this. It's
My second month of Ttc after having my mirena coil out. My first monthly cycle was 30 days and my next period I'd due Friday 12th but for the past 4 days I 've felt really sick.

I'm a slightly older mum to be and really want this to happen so am getting a bit nervous and getting a bit stressed and it's only the 2nd month!!!!

Ordinarily I would try to be patient and wait but been invited to a girls 40th weekend away for a friend of a friend but I don't wanna go if I am pregnant as it will be a boozy weekend.

I need advice here, is it too early to do a pregnancy test or do I need to wait until my period is actually late???

Go for it. Try first response they r the best. I found out 6 days before my period was due when pregnant with dd. avoid blue dye tests and you might see a faint line. If bfn try another tests a few days later.

Thank you, 6 days sounds promising but this is like 9 days! I haven't got any tests in the house but sooooo tempted to go to the supermarket now - knew there was a reason they were open 24 hours!!!!! I was memorised with how many different types of tests there were!!!

Some were like £1.99 and the top of the range ones were £12.99!!!!!
Thanks for the advice as to which ones are best xxxxx

My advice would be to wait - at least until the middle of next week. In my first couple of months of trying I psychotically POAS most days in the week leading up to AF and got more and more upset and depressed as each one was negative. It also cost me a fair bit in tests. Now I always wait until AF is due (and as a result don't need to take pg tests unfortunately!).

Hi Gemerama, deep down I know what you're saying is so true. I'm just so desperate to be pregnant. I wake up thinking about it, think about it on my way to work, all day and then all night before bed so it's really hard to switch off from it
I stopped myself going to 24hr supermarket last night as this week my partner is on nights and he 'd be gutted if I did it without him xxxx

Hi everyone - well period due Friday so 3-4 days, bought an early predictor test and it was a big fat negative so now I'm totally gutted again. I feel worse than last month not sure I'm going to cope very well with this if it keeps happening - any advice? X

I'm going to give you a really shitty and unhelpful bit of advice as it's always easier said than done but it's meant with love - try to relax! I'm almost 6 months pregnant but it took us 15 months to conceive and I put myself (and DH) through hell with the stress, charting, counting, mucus examination, etc. etc. for that whole time.
I have little practical advice about trying to conceive (everybody's different and I don't believe there was any magic bullet that did it for us in the end) but best of luck. Oh, and take your pre natal vitamins x

I know you're right it's just getting all a bit too much some days. However have just been in my bathroom bin see attached and overnight a faint line has appeared - what does everyone think? X

Is it to early to do a pregnancy test ???

Sorry, but I don't think that this means anything. If the line has appeared over night, it's most likely an evaporation line and nothing to do with your test result.

lucygooo · 10/09/2014 12:48

Sorry you got a BFN Bella. Agree with cloudjumper that a line appearing overnight when there wasn't one before is almost certainly an evap line. This is why the test instructions give you a timeframe for the result - after that it is not accurate.

I really sympathise with how you are feeling. It's month 3 for me and I am getting more and more impatient and more and more depressed every time I haven't conceived. You just have to bear in mind that it takes time and you can't make it happen quicker. The way I cope is by being quite dismissive about the idea of getting pregnant (managing my expectations!) and by being quite strict about not POAS until the day AF is due, then I don't waste lost of money on tests. I'm also using the clearblue fertility monitor which helps as it gives me an illusion of control!

Oh just to add, if you like reading I read this book which really reassured me that everything I'm feeling is normal!
