Hello, myself and my partner who I have been living with for 3 years have decided to try for what we plan to be our only child. I am in my mid 20's and he is in his mid 30's. We also live with his mum, who sadly has cancer and we help to care for her. Just recently we have both had babies on the brain, and we decided that it is the right time as neither of us want to have a child too old.
We do have a slightly more unusual issue, though. We are both asexual (non-sexual orientation) so while our reproductive systems are perfectly healthy, I am worried that sex being a turn-off and not very enjoyable for us may somehow hinder our chances of conception. I have read about people experiencing a lack of enjoyment from it struggling to become pregnant. Does anyone else have any similar problem or am I just being paranoid?
We have managed to have physically successful sex (although don't enjoy the experience very much, we both get through it by focusing on our goal of conception and finding something to laugh about at every opportunity).
The success was partly helped by the use of a lubricant, and this is where I have another question. We are using KY gel, and the package says that it does not contain spermicide, but I have read some things on the internet about it effecting sperm? How many others have managed to conceive using it? Should I get a lubricant made specifically for conception?
Also, I would welcome any other advice that can be offered. :)
Thankyou for reading!

There are sperm friendly lubricants such as preseed, I think conceiveplus is another one.

In terms of not wanting to have sec to conceive you could always inseminate using a syringe. I suppose that does still require you partner being sexual by himself but it negates the need to have sex together IYSWIM.
