Recurrent Miscarriage Unit at Royal London

I'm 31 and have had 3 recurrent miscarriages. This is my first time TTC. I'm feeling so lost and frustrated. My GP got some basic blood tests done before she would refer me to the Recurrent Miscarriage Unit and now I've finally got the referral and there's a 9 week waiting time. I hear St Mary's is meant to be excellent but there's a long waiting time there as well. Has anyone gone private and had luck? I'm worried I'm going through the NHS sausage factory and I won't get any answers.

Hi. Sorry to hear about your miscarriages - I know how devasting they are having had two last year. I went to St Mary's as a private patient and thought that Prof Regan was excellent and very thorough! Basically she concluded after a lot of tests that the cause of my miscarriages was due to my dodgy old eggs (I am now 45) which was not really what I wanted to hear at the time but ultimately useful in helping us decide what we did next. So rather than keep trying we decided to try donor eggs and I am now 9 weeks pregnant with twins Shock Grin

At 31 you are still young so although waiting 9 weeks might seem like a long time in the scheme of things if you can find out what has caused your MC and what treatment is available it will be worth it. Time is on your side and taking some time to grieve your losses is no bad thing.

Wishing you all the very best of luck.
