TTC at 35

I have just turned 35 and this will be our 5th month of TTC. I'm getting a bit despondent as nothing seems to be happening. All of my friends seem to get pregnant in the first month of trying although they are in their early 30s. We are on honeymoon this month and I thought perhaps this would be our chance but have woken up today on 13dpo with red / brown cm when I wipe and cramping so looks like AF has arrived. Does anyone have any experiences / stories of conceiving or TTC at 35+? Thinking maybe I should go to doctors soon for tests?

I am 35 in September and conceived this past May after four months of trying. Miscarried last week, but I am optimistic. This was my third pregnancy. First one took 4 months, ended at 6 weeks. Second one resulted in my beautiful daughter, took 4 months to conceive. Don't give up hope, honestly five months is not a long time, I know it feels like forever but I believe the average is nearer eighteen months.

Hi bonbon

Thanks for replying. I'm so sorry about your miscarriage, I hope you are ok. Wow 18months, I worry sometimes that I have left it too late to start trying for my first but didn't meet DH until my 30s. Trying to remain positive x

Don't despair, it most definitely can still happen. I was 36 when we started ttc and we have 2 dc now, born when I was 37 and 39. Lots of my friends had first babies past 35 and subsequent babies past 40. There are lots of older mums around.
