Ive read another thread with interest about ttc after the pill & saw that a couple of posters were about to stop their bc pills so thought a new thread might be in order!
Im getting married in August & currently finishing my last packet of Yasmin. Excited & nervous all at the same time!

So who's with me?

Xx

So im not the expert of the bunch but ive read you should not get up for 20 minutes to give little swimmers best chance as gravity when you stand will just chuck them out. Also read (sorry for TMI) that us girls need to climax as this changes the ph balance in the womb giving swimmers less chance if getting nuked. Yes im a bit of a science geek smile.
On another note if you ever wanted a reason to get disciplined in taking your pre concep and pregnancy vitamins you should watch last night's episode of DIY the big build my heart goes out to the mum but even in her difficult situation she is blessed with the most beautiful happy baby I've seen in a while.

Lets commit to taking our vitamins girls even if ee are not BFP because its really important.

Thanks freedom and little miss glad to know im not the only one with bloating! Ive got all those other symptoms too freedom.

glad AF has arrived for you Jane at least you can start planning for next month now. We try To dtd every other day but obviously its not always possible

im taking my vits religiously freedom what was the programme about?

catnip85 · 29/08/2014 18:39

Oh and guess what arrived today- a brown envelope with a clear blue digital fertility test. No note or instructions from them tho so how am i supposed to know where to post the feedback? Not impressed with their organisation!

Freedom40 · 29/08/2014 19:18

Im not impressed either catnip clearblue called me for the trial but only after I outed their unfair pratice of fast tracking candidates via "special invite only" email address from another thread on mumsnet. Guess they did not realise the power of social media. But look on the bright site, its saving you money. You should be able to find the directions on their website.

The program was about a family in desperate need of a handicap accessible home for their son who has spina bifida because no one told his mum to take folic acid to reduce the chances of developing the condition by 75%. She was gutted and guilty but it highlighted to me hiw women still are not getting the info they need on pregnancy health.

Hi everyone! Not been on here for a while as got married and been on honeymoon. Back to normality with a bump now though.

I was really hopeful of a honeymoon bfp but was not to be. First cycle after withdrawal bleed was 39 days - not as long as some but long enough to have me crossing my fingers.

Hopefully I can now start to get into a regular cycle so I know when to expect af (or bfp)!

A taking the plunge graduate thread is a fab idea! Massive congratulations to justyouwait! I hope she will not mind me posting this as she has posted it elsewhere but siarie has had her bfp too on cycle 2.

Fingers crossed for more 'plunge' bfps very soon!

Hi teachermummy congratulations on your wedding! I hope you had an amazing honeymoon...whereabouts did you go?

Great news about siarie too - when is she due? If it's a May due date then it would be great to see her on the May baby antenatal club thread.

I have told my mum and dad today. They are over the moon. Makes it seem more real now.

teachermummy2b · 30/08/2014 21:56

Aww justyouwait its exciting! Honeymoon was in Sorrento and was fab - have fallen in love with Italy. Actually feel almost torn now between booking a 2 week holiday there next year and enjoying a last holiday without kid people and getting my bfp - I want both lol.

I can't quite remember about siarie but she started and posted her news on the emergency bus for August thread if you search for that

OP posts:
Justyouwaitandsee · 30/08/2014 22:53

Ahh those 'bus' threads give me a headache! Felt like too many people and too much pressure for me. Found the thread but can't see her post. Much happier here on our quieter, more intimate thread Wink
Very pleased for her though!

Freedom40 · 30/08/2014 23:07

just you wait I totally agree. Like the little group here on our thread. Hope everyone is relaxing and enjoying the weekend. On a totally no ttc note my tomatoes are finally turning red. Hopefully that's a sign that other things are growing as well Smile

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 31/08/2014 08:39

Lovebugs - sounds like we re on the same time scale! My last pill will be on 14 September ironically our first wedding anniversary. Am hoping for af mid October tho am not sure if you count from first day of no pill or first day of withdrawal bleed? Confusing. Anyhow should be trying properly towards end of October eek!

Congrats justyouwait that is great news! Here's hoping for more bfp on this thread :D

catnip85 · 31/08/2014 09:15

Congratulations teacher! And welcome back. Lets hope the next cycle we will all get bfps. Ive still not seen AF and im starting to wonder whether i should test again...? Is it possible to get a negative then a positive if i got my dates wrong?

i couldn't get on with the buses- too fast paced unless u are checking the conversation ten times a day. Really happy to hear about siarie though and hope we can all join u on the pregnancy thread soon justyouwait i bet your mum and dad were delighted with the news?

Katybear123 · 31/08/2014 09:25

Hi ladies
Welcome back teacher mummy I love Italy to its beautiful great choice for honeymoon

Quick q for u ladies who are off the pill now. How many of u have had periods since stopping and have these been really light? My first period was almost just spotting, period. 2 was light but more if a flow. Period 3 which I am now on 2 days of spotting think yest but have been a proper day but v light - I'm finding it v confusing.

Have also developed spots on neck by ears over glands has anyone else had this?

Sorry for so much detail for those of u waiting to come off pill Hmm

catnip85 · 31/08/2014 10:01

Yes my first period was v light katy which was completely different to how it was on the pill. And yes ive got spots all across my jawline which i put down to the hormone changes :(

Lovebugs2014 · 31/08/2014 10:08

Lovely to hear from you wanttobeamummy - I'm finishing my pill on the 18th so will be exciting to hear all the developments from you too!! Not sure what will happen when I stop the pill in terms of when AF will appear but I've told DH that we'll be getting good exercise if we aim for every other day regardless of ovulation/AF etc!! He is on board with that now but let's see when he is shattered after work! We are off on holiday today for two weeks so it will be unlikely I'll be checking on here as I try to switch the phone off and have a break from technology but will miss all your updates and look forward to reading them when I'm back and hoping there is lots of BFP's on here we can celebrate xx

Katybear123 · 31/08/2014 10:12

Phew glad not just me catnip. My boobs r also swollen which is weird like water retention but I thought would go with af arrival but 2 days of sitting and now 2nd day af at it but doesn't seem to b. Do u have this to?

catnip85 · 31/08/2014 11:24

Have a lovely holiday lovebugs enjoy the technology break!

Ive not got swollen books katy but def feeling bloated! I either look like ive put on a few pounds on my stomach or got a baby bump already (just no baby!) its not a good look

Justyouwaitandsee · 31/08/2014 15:25

Hi catnip - it is possible to get a positive after a negative so worth doing another test esp if you have potential symptoms. How many days has this cycle been? What have your previous cycles been?

catnip85 · 31/08/2014 18:59

Thanks justyouwait my last cycle which was the first after coming off the pill was 36 days which seems quite long so i thought this one might be shorter as hormones settle down but im already at day 36 for cycle 2 and nada. Also my bbt is very high and has been for 2 weeks now- 37 degrees and its usually 36.2-36.3. I just don't wanna get my hopes up. Will poas tomorrow if still nothing

catnip85 · 31/08/2014 19:00

Forgot to ask- how are you feeling now, any symptoms yet?

Justyouwaitandsee · 31/08/2014 22:28

Aww well fingers crossed for a BFP or AF arrival very soon! I still don't have any major symptoms. No sickness or sore boobs. Slightly heightened sense of smell (but I usually do anyway) and only fancy healthy food. A slightly upset stomach but no nausea. Still don't really 'feel' pregnant...have to wait till the 24th sept for my midwife appointment - seems like ages!!

catnip85 · 01/09/2014 07:26

Its probably a good thing though- some people feel awful already by a couple of weeks. Glad its going well. You must be so excited!

catnip85 · 01/09/2014 18:58

OMG you best get that pregnancy thread ready justyouwait looks like im coming with you!! Just got a very clear Bfp

Justyouwaitandsee · 01/09/2014 19:02

Eeekk!! That is AMAZING news!! I am more excited about yours than I was about my own Grin Congratulations!! FlowersFlowersFlowers

Join us on the May thread in antenatal and I will look at setting up a plunge thread when I get home. (Although be warned it is a little bit sad on the main thread at the moment as it looks like we've had 3 miscarriages over last few days Sad)

catnip85 · 01/09/2014 19:14

Thanks Hun :) I'll check it out later. DH is out atm so still have to break the news when he gets home! So sad to hear about the MCs hopefully we will be ok, im almost too scared to get excited just in case something happens. I'm quite shocked tbh. I'ts my best friends hen do this wkend. Am gonna have to explain to her now why i cant drink!

Justyouwaitandsee · 01/09/2014 19:23

Aww good luck surprising DH! I think I am finally coming to terms with the idea. Today for the first time I actually feel pregnant. Felt a bit queasy this morning and had to unbutton my trousers at my desk! (Despite having actually lost weight from all the heathy eating!) plus sensitive nipples. I think I am five weeks today. Have you tried calculating your EDD on the nhs calculator yet?
