Bring on the Thursday BFP's!!! Grin

lillamyy1 · 22/06/2014 10:37

Morning all! Hope everyone's been enjoying the gorgeous weather! Sorry to those of you who got BFNs but you're not out until AF shows!
AF's due on Wednesday, but I'll probably be testing from tomorrow onwards!
I was going to ask you all about drinking while ttc. I'm not a very big drinker anyway and in the first month ttc I didn't drink at all but the last 2 months (including this month) I've had a night out or two drinking quite a bit while waiting for AF. Does anyone know if it makes a big difference?

Ducky23 · 22/06/2014 11:02

Lil, I hate saying this but dd was kind of a surprise, I didnt find out until I was 9/10 weeks pg, I found out on a Tuesday and I remember the Saturday before I got wasted Blush and that didn't make a diff with dd she was fine (apart from the obvious but that definitely wasn't caused by the drinking) unless you have a positive test I wouldn't worry too much as long as you don't get absolutely smashed.

God I sound awful! Blush Lol

lillamyy1 · 22/06/2014 11:05

Smile That's what I thought... If we have no luck this month, we're going to put ttc on hold for a month then in August will give up all booze I think!

So, what's the best early pg test? Fr?? Excited to start testing!

Ducky23 · 22/06/2014 11:19

I love fr!!!!!!! Grin

When I tested I used ic, fr and Asdas 2 for 3.50 Grin

iamdivergent · 22/06/2014 11:31

14dpo cupcake but insure how accurate as nit using opk's

iamdivergent · 22/06/2014 11:31

Hmm not lol

no af yet

poppet85 · 22/06/2014 11:44

I dont think it matters massively about drinking when ttc apart from the obvious health reasons and maybe letting loose and taking your mind off it might help!!. If you've been trying for months/year I guess its something to consider.
Superdrug tests seemed to be successful on here last month !!
Good luck to everyone this week ,another roller coaster ride !!

bradders85 · 22/06/2014 11:52

Hi everyone, been catching up! sorry to those whose af has arrived. Think af is due on Friday for me (seems to appear between cd 28-31) changes every month! Not feeling any different from normal apart from having a sore throat - but I think I'm just ill!

poppet85 · 22/06/2014 11:56

bradders I had a sore throat on the lead on to my bfp and for a few weeks after . Looking back it was really my only sympton

bradders85 · 22/06/2014 12:03

that's interesting to know poppet - funny how all little things can turn out to be a real proper symptom! I don't think I am going to test until day af is due to arrive, not feeling overly optimistic this month and don't want to waste my pennies!! Good luck to everyone still waiting to test.

Cupcake92 · 22/06/2014 12:46

No idea why I was up early Bears!
I just woke up then and couldn't get back to sleep haha.

Iamdivergent my pg with DS I tested at 14dpo and got bfn but 17 DPO got bfp. So don't give up :)

I'm also 14 DPO now I'll be testing Thursday at 18 DPO so I'll know for deffo :)

Ducky23 · 22/06/2014 13:15

Lil, how come your having a month off? Only asking cus I know of people having a break to try and avoid certain due dates Grin

MrsPopple29 · 22/06/2014 14:43

I'm prob going to have a month off too (well, of not trying too hard anyway) next month to avoid an important wedding clash. Also, I think the stress is getting to me!

lillamyy1 · 22/06/2014 17:05

It's just because we've got a busy month with 2 massive party weekends... although having said that, we're also going on holiday so maybe a change of scenery will be good for ttc if we were unsuccessful this month.

I've got a sore throat! I thought it was from smoking but maybe it's a symptom!

Ducky23 · 22/06/2014 17:12

Ahh the break will probably do you good and relax you, but what's the betting that will be the month it happens Grin

lillamyy1 · 22/06/2014 17:16

It would be typical, wouldn't it? Grin
I'm going to test tomorrow morning. Quite excited!

bradders85 · 22/06/2014 17:22

Good luck testing tomorrow lillamy - I am just convinced I am getting a cold!

LuluJakey1 · 22/06/2014 17:38

DH's latest. He has been reading stuff on baby routines and thinks we should be very relaxed and not have a routine for Smudge- got to bed when tired etc, no set napping, bed or feeding routine, take out with us at night where possible and so on.Apparently, this will result in a very relaxed, easy , adaptable baby and child.

Is he talking sense?

TBH we are so laid back it could well end up like that but is it a good idea?

Ducky23 · 22/06/2014 17:45

Ohhh didn't realise you were still to test lil!!

I have no idea about that yet lulu, but apparently they will have a similar sleep/wake routine as when they are still inside you Smile

poppet85 · 22/06/2014 18:02

Good luck lilla fingers crossed !! But if not sounds like your got a lovely month planned !! And fx for everyone this week.
I dont know about any of it lulu !! Just see how it
goes I guess? and what works for us .I had one friend who started of being a laid back/taking baby to the pub/festival type parents but it just didnt work for them he wasnt a happy baby and liked a cry !! It stressed her out more taking him to things like that. Its all settled down now and they've found their own way . I have no idea which way we'll go !!

LuluJakey1 · 22/06/2014 18:17

I think we are probably suited to being more laid back about it but I do think babies need some routing. You can train them a bit - so they recognise routine and what it means.

I can see DH being very 'adaptable' then trotting off to work or falling asleep and me being left to pick up the pieces.

LuluJakey1 · 22/06/2014 18:19

Oh God! I have just read that back and I sound so naive! I haven't got a clue really. I only know about kittens and puppies.

Goes off to read DH's info on Bringing Up Babies

Ducky23 · 22/06/2014 18:25

I'm sure it will all come naturally lulu Smile youl figure out what's right for you.

Bearsinmotion · 22/06/2014 18:36

I think that works to an extent lulu - DD came out with us when she was tiny and we didn't have set bedtimes etc, but I think you need a routine when you do put him/her down for the night. Babies don't know the difference between night and day so you have to get them to understand that certain triggers mean sleep.

Having said that, DP thinks our lovely easy going baby is down to his our superior parenting skills Hmm, I suspect if DC2 does arrive (s)he will prove him wrong!
