Anyone try Reflexology to help with fertility issues?

I am seeing a Reflexologist on Wednesday who specialises in Fertility issues and I wonder if anyone else has had similar treatment and found it helped?

There has been some positive news articles recently linked good conception results with Reflexology. I know most people who are investigating complimentary therapies move towards acupuncture however near me it is around £45 a session for half an hour and I could tell the price alone was going to stress me out!!

Thanks

I've been having monthly sessions for 5 cycles now sebsmummy. First cycle after reflexology, I suffered a chemical pregnancy, but was some improvement to the previous cycles I keep telling myself that

Last two cycles, I didn't actually ovulate, but the reflexology helped calm me down and reduced some pms type symptoms. Had another session on CD8 this cycle and am now on CD27. I've definitely ovulated (one day earlier than other cycles-cd18) and hoping. My ankles do hurt after each session though, they press hard!
Oh, I pay £43 pounds for 1 hour and use a clinical reflexologist, rather than a 'beauty spa' one. Hope this is helpful and good luck

I had it. Found it wonderfully relaxing but it didn't get me pregnant!

I am a reflexology. It is a therapy which can have many relaxing benefits but no therapist should be claiming any direct increase in fertility. I have 15 years experience and would never make such claims as it would be unethical. Please be aware of this.
However, reflexology has benefits that may be as yet unknown and the power of human touch in itself is beneficial so I hope that you enjoy your treatment for what it is but please don't expect anything too miraculous.

I am a reflexologist

Sorry

I used it in conjunction with fertility treatments. I have no idea what the true impact was but it did relax me and help with stress levels which could only be a good thing.

For what it's worth my first ivf with no reflexology didn't work but the second with it did.

I obviously kept everything the same when we tried for a sibling so used reflexology again and again we were successful.

I couldn't say that it directly impacted my results but after 6 years I was willing to do anything that might tip the balance... if you told me that running around naked at the full moon would have been beneficial....

Angry I've just reread the website and i think she has been quite careful not to give the impression that reflexology is a cure all. She talks about relaxation and stress relief and says it is not a diagnostic tool, so I don't think she is a charlatan or anything.

I have been horribly stressed with my second stupidly-long miscarriage and so I am hoping this might calm me down and also, maybe, do some good. I think I am pretty certain I don't want to go down more medical routes, at this stage anyway, so complimentary therapies seem to fit the bill.

sebsmummy I'm glad to hear that, that she is not making false claims and that you are going for the right reasons. I hope you enjoy the treatment and hope that your fertility issues improve Thanks

I find reflexology vv relaxing because you can get into a sort of meditative state which just seems to give your brain a chance to reset. Mechanically speaking it also sorts out my foot pain, tight calves and wonky lower back. And I don't have to take off more than my socks.

I've just had a laparoscopy and am starting reflexology on Saturday which should be cd 1 for me. Will let you all know how it goes. Happy to hear any stories of anyone it's worked for!

Ah thanks girls. I've started Reformer Pilates as well on a Saturday (i do Pilates 3 times in the week) and that has definitely helped with flexibility so am hoping Relexology might iron out any other niggles. You never know! I will report back Grin
