Just looking up thermometers online and what the best one to use is - any views? I think I'll try the Boots own digital and fertility diary. Anyone else used this one?

Is it to late to start using this cycle, i'm CD2.

hi there! we use the First Response Fertility monitor. Bought it in 2004 at a cost of £100 but on recommendation from my sister. The way it works is that you take your temperature every morning before you get up. it's stored in a computer which gradually makes a picture of your cycle. you can also tell it when your cervical mucus changes, which makes it more accurate. it's no good if you work shifts or if getting pregnant is an absolute no-no. the monitor will give flashy babies if you're in a fertile phase and solid babies when you're in a highly fertile phase. i think it's great!

starting on day 2 is fine. according to Toni Weschler's book - taking charge of your fertility, it's not really necessary to temp during your period anyway.

Where did you buy the First Response one from?

How long have you been using it and is it successful???

We bought it in a large Boots store and depends on what you mean by successful . DH and I conceived due a fault with our barrier method when on a flashy baby day! Yes, very successful at predicting when you're most likely to conceive and therefore use added protection if you don't want to during the flashy baby days (about 10 in all including the solid baby days).
