Hello to everyone,

My name is Paola and I started trying to get pregnant more than 6 months ago without success. Even if my partner and I do not want to get too much stressed about it I would like to check if there are any health problems preventing us from getting pregnant.
Since I am Italian, I am new in the area (St albans) and do not really know how things work here for these things, I wanted to ask to all of you if I have to go to my GP first or if I can go to the clinic in Waverley road booking an appointment.
Would this be considered as a private appointment or still covered by NHS? Thank you for any reply,
Paola

You should go to your GP I think, because he/she will be able to refer you to a specialist. I will warn you, however, that most GPs won't refer you unless you have been trying for at least a year, although this may vary?!

Go to you Gp and talk it through with them.

Thank you for your reply. My concern is my age (38)...I feel as I cannot spend too much time in just "trying"... If there is anything wrong in me or in my partner I would like to know it in advance...
Let's see what does the GP say...

On Waverly rd there is the hospital, I can't see a specific clinic for pregnancy. The Dr's can refer you or offer you some tests.
