I know sometimes i have heard people rave about the cheaper pg tests when hoping for an early result, so which ones are recommended please? My poundland ones keep giving me bfn's!

first response and then a clearblue digital if line is faint

Poundland/internet cheapies are as reliable- if not more sensitive in some cases - than expensive, branded tests. Just wait a few days.

First response is the only way to go in my experience!

I bought a whole load of test strips online - 10mlu which I think are as sensitive as you can get. And only a couple of pounds for a big envelope full of them so much cheaper than branded tests! First Response Early Response (there are a couple of different FR tests) are good to confirm - clear lines IME - followed of course by a Clear Blue digital!

I despise clearblue. Charging ££ and people using them to confirm something you already know. No harm I suppose if you have the cash but I see too many threads where an op has got a bfp on an early sensitive test and a bfn on a cb digi or the conception indicator hasn't changed promptly and it causes anguish. Clever marketing means that swathes of people think tthey're the best and one MNer was even told by a GP that the conception indicator not tallying with dates meant a miscarriage was inevitable. She had to go back and insist she saw an actual MW. Pregnancy was fine.
