Bit of an unloading rant here..... Just need to air my frustration!

I had the Nexplanon implant 14 months ago, and I'm now trying to convince my GP surgery that I need it removed. For the last four months I've been getting (sorry TMI) 2-3 week long, HEAVY periods. So heavy I'm passing out like a teenage girl, as my BP has always been low. We also decided over Xmas to start a family this year.

I contacted the surgery at the start of March and was told the woman who makes these appts would call me back to arrange one. A week later, no call, so I call them back and she is off. No one else can make these appts I'm told. After 6 weeks of phoning them, I came home to an answer phone message on Thurs (I had left my mobile number so this wouldn't happen) and she has made me an appt...... 3rd June! I called back to change it/bring it forward as I am away throughout June and she was 'unavailable'

I know it's not life threatening, but we have decided to start TTC once my cycles are regular again, and I am fed up of leaking for 3 weeks at a time!

Rant over, that's better deep breath

Could you go to a family planning clinic to have it removed?

I would also look into going to the FP clinic as crazykat suggests.

I would also change GP practice and re-register with another one. Some are far better than others.

A referral to a gynae should be made as well by the GP given your episodes of heavy bleeding (fibroids for instance can cause heavy and prolonged bleeding).

Do not put up with it!.
