Haha! drew!

Decided I feel crap about moaning about my life yesterday. I've got my reasonable health, my hubby, a job, roof over my head, no one's died.

However we do have a meeting this afternoon about proposed working hours and I prob will be sad and angry again later. And of course we have the threat of being down banded on pay next year hanging over our heads. Are you having this many problems at work rpopz? It will be effectively more work for less pay as our sample load is a few 1000 up on last year already!

Thing is why I'm upset and angry. Finally get to a place in my career where I think we can afford a child then find out why are having trouble and tests, then they want to change our shifts and pay us less!

SassehMonsta · 08/04/2014 08:17

Been JS-ing for months, and finally got a bfp on Saturday. Never felt happier!

RPopz · 08/04/2014 09:42

Lol Drew - I was bitching to someone about those stoopid potatoes just yesterday haha! Hope they were yummy ;-)

Vic, I didn't think the NHS could downgrade you? I'm a 6, department is mostly 6s but as they leave they're being replaced by 5s. And 5s don't automatically progress to being 6s eventually anymore (which in our trust they used to). Have heard rumour the lab manager wants a 50/50 split between them now. We moved into a new multidisciplinary building a while back and our core hours were changed to 8-8 Mon- Sun! So theoretically they could ask us to work anytime! I work in a 9-5 dept though luckily, nothing too urgent, so not much call for those hours. But I also work on the clin chem out of hours rota so I have to work nights and weekends sometimes anyway! That's voluntary though... allegedly. I know exactly what you mean though, everything at the moment is them wanting more for less. Deskilling everything. Kinda depressing when you think how we studied for the job! Fx its not as bad as it sounds for you this aft x

DrewsWife · 08/04/2014 12:07

Sasseh. Huge congratulations x Grin

They can downgrade us a sneaky way rpopz....

Our lab is merging with another next year and we've seen the workforce planning document! There seems to be suspiciously the same amount of band 5's needed to man new lab as there are currently band 5+6 put together. The talk is that we'll have to re-apply for a 5 post, that's how they get around downgrading. I'll prob get pay protection for 12-24 month max. DH only on a 3 so can't live off his wage. Always knew he would be the one to give up work if needed. That makes me sad too as I'd love to be stay at home mum like my mum.

Congrats to sasseh who ever you are ;-). X

Thank you Victoria401
I'm going to get a test tomorrow if AF doesn't arrive by the morning :)

DrewsWife · 08/04/2014 14:01

Well I said I wouldn't symptom spot..... But......

My roseacea appears to have cleared this morning. My skin is lovely and clear. Smile

Good luck Pickles!

How long for you Drew?

That's super fucking sneaky Vic. Gutted. We're in same boat if I'm honest, DH earns much less than me so if anyone is staying at home it'd be him....

DrewsWife · 08/04/2014 15:09

I'm due AF in a week I think.

cowbiscuits · 08/04/2014 15:26

Hello all

I'm still hanging on. On day 33 now and still no AF. Had a bfn on Saturday, have vowed not to test again until tomorrow morning.

Thought AF was coming a few days ago but those symptoms (sore boobs, bloatedness etc) seem to have lessened.

Will see what tomorrow brings.

DrewsWife · 08/04/2014 15:28

Good luck biscuits. Smile

Crikey Drew!

RPopz · 08/04/2014 16:45

How dyou feel??

DrewsWife · 08/04/2014 17:05

Angry as he won't listen to my views. Valid or not. It's his way or none. I hate being treated like a kid. I have no right to a life outside of work incase it even remotely impacts on potential rotas

toothachereturns · 08/04/2014 19:32

Good for you Drew! Sounds like an utterly shit situation! xx

toothachereturns · 08/04/2014 19:34

Good luck for the morning Pickles and Biscuits!!!
I'm not due AF for another 9 days. Going to test on Friday even tho it's early as DH has to leave to go back to the flat for a week with his Dds and pretend I don't exist. Not allowed near wicked stepmum. Hmm

victoria401 · 08/04/2014 20:14

And I'm only just ovulating!

RPopz · 08/04/2014 20:53

Good luck everyone x

victoria401 · 08/04/2014 21:32

Got a pos opk today and loads of ewcm! Jumping on DH tonight! First month of using opks and started on cd8 as early ov last month. Just as well as only cd11 today! Feel diff this month and think I have some pains on the right not the left as normal. Maybe the right one will work better!?
