Reflexology appointment booked for next Saturday. Any excuse for a good old massage me Wink

Treaclepie19 · 26/01/2014 10:28

mum2kiss that's brilliant haha.
My DH was shocked with the NUDP and now finds it hilarious... However he did remind me to do it yesterday. I think he's going as cuckoo as me.
May have to pop out and get some manuka...

kitty I'm considering it too! Just don't know if I can afford it.

barmybunting · 26/01/2014 10:45

mum2kiss I am driving back to aldi shortly to buy the raw manuka honey, I am liking your evening drink idea!

treacle are you near a local college or anything where the students might do reflexology as part of their training? My mum goes to the local college once a week for reflexology as part of treatment for depression and pays £5 for an hour long session as the students are in the final elements of their training, but supervised by a qualified reflexogists all the time. She does this in between monthly treatments with the normal person she goes to who recommended the college to her as she is one of the trainers. It might be worth a go? Or perhaps have a look at gumtree? I tried that route but couldn't find anyone locally as we are fairly rural.

In terms of apps I have fertility friend and pink pad. I don't temp but find fertility friend very user-friendly. I used opks this month and actually found it reduced the stress somewhat for me, as I wasn't constantly thinking 'could it be now etc?'
I hasn't intended to use opks as always had really regular cycles but last month was all over the place, so thought this would give me a better idea of what's been going on.
Feeling much more able to handle the 2ww this month (she says only 4 days in ?? )but I think that could be because life generally is a bit better for us this month.
Not long until the February bus departs ladies!

Tigsy · 26/01/2014 10:50

Also random question, but those who have had reflexology does it tickle your feet? Not sure id be able to sit still for it!

Owlie84 · 26/01/2014 10:52

Hello!! AF just got me; can I jump on please?

Owlie84 ttc #1, cycle 8, BFP 22nd February

Thanks :)

missmrsmummy · 26/01/2014 11:04

Hi Owlie Sorry AF got you. Hope this bus will be the lucky one!

Treaclepie19 · 26/01/2014 11:26

Oo Barmy that sounds brilliant, I'll look into it. Thank you :)

Owlie84 · 26/01/2014 11:29

Thank you! I hope it's a lucky bus for everyone!

KittyVonCatsington · 26/01/2014 11:32

Oh no! how annoying, Owlie! We'll keep you company Smile

I've had reflexology before and they press hard - they don't do the light 'sweep' action you do when you tickle someone, so you won't be tickled (unless you are super sensitive!)
I do remember getting tingly sensations in other parts of the body such as my head and hands and it was bliss.

barmybunting · 26/01/2014 11:40

treacle I hope you find somewhere. You may need to phone the local colleges/unis to ask if nothing comes up online.

mum2kiss · 26/01/2014 12:28

Remember is drinking the honey warm not to put boiling water directly in to the mug! This will kill he antibacterial properties.

I usually put the honey in the mug first then add 1/3 - 1/2 of cold water then top up with boiling water so its immediately at drinkable temperature ;)

ItsChristmaass · 26/01/2014 12:31

I hopped aboard this bus a few days ago thinking af was coming, but didn't actually arrive til yesterday so I'll update my stats.
Ttc #2 cycle 14 bfp due 22nd

missmrsmummy · 26/01/2014 12:32

Oh yay, I have found a maternity reflexologist near me where 25 mins pre-conception massage is £25. I'd previously have spent £50 a month on gym membership and I'm trying to exercise at home to save that money so I could use it towards this. Hopefully I'd only need one or two sessions! ;-)

When is it best to time it in your cycle? I'm on CD7 so should I go before I ovulate?

ItsChristmaass · 26/01/2014 12:33

Also can I ask, I keep seeing NUDP and koala in loads of posts.. What do they mean? Blush

babytinks89 · 26/01/2014 12:38

CD9 for me today....
Anyone used opk's? When is it best to start using them, or is it even worth it? Me and Dh starting to dtd tonight, he is nightshift all of next week!!! Gutted told him he'll have to be jumping on me before i go to work haha i am not missing my day this month!!

BFP due 17/18/19th feb, due to an irregular cycle!!

Good luck sexy mamas to be!!

mum2kiss · 26/01/2014 13:03

Lol @ running back to aldi barmy hope they had a good stock!

Christmaas nudp is naked upside down pedalling! This is one of the steps of the koala plan (developed by a fellow mumsnetter!) I believe the steps are:
Teaspoon of manuka honey a day
orgasm after dh when dtd
Nupd for as long as you can
then pillow propped under your bum for 30 mins...

I may have missed something but that's the general gist!

seasavage · 26/01/2014 13:16

Re. Koala plan. DH has jusrlt suggested the pillow under bum at start of DTD will make achieving orgasm easier and make NUPD easier. .. Think he's reading Cosmo at work :-)

SnowBells · 26/01/2014 13:24

How much do you guys pay for reflexology, and how often do you go? Around £45 each time where I am - would be pricey to do once a week...

Charlie343 · 26/01/2014 13:26

Aldi Manuka raw honey bought and only £3.99 ready for my koala plan cycle!

missmrsmummy · 26/01/2014 13:27

Babytinks (cute name!) I have been using Clearblue digital. I have found them very useful. There is a chart in the instructions where you look at your cycle length and it tells you when to start testing (so you don't start too early and waste them). They are quite expensive (£20+) but the result is so clear - empty circle if not ovulating and smiley face if you have a LH surge (means you will ovulate in the next day or two).

I have seen cheaper ones but they are not digital so you have to judge whether the line is strong or not... I can't be doing with that! Just want a clear answer so I can start dtd!

Hope that helps Smile

missmrsmummy · 26/01/2014 13:28

Wow Charlie I thought it was £4.99 - even better!

babytinks89 · 26/01/2014 13:51

Thanks missmrsmummy Smile
Cd10 for me tomorrow so i've read to start then... But cause my cycle is irregular since mc in november 37 day cycle then 34 say cycle, grr give me strength!!

KittyVonCatsington · 26/01/2014 13:53

My 1hour reflexology is costing me £43. Planning on only one session and it will be CD10 by then.

Quick question about ClearBlue digis... My Boots own brand advised against FMU but CB digis say to use FMU. Am I reading this correctly?
