Hycosy - Would you go to work after?

Quick question- have a HyCoSy scan later today. DH normally attends all appointments with me but can't go today so I'm getting a bit nervous.

Is it going to hurt? I was planning on going back to work after but now I'm really not so sure?

Hiya, may be too late now... but in my experience, it hurt quite a bit while doing it (but they did have to have two goes to get the catheter in for me) (but it was bearable), and afterwards I had bad period type pains, but by the time we got home (including a trip to waitrose for DH to get me some cakey treats - about half an hour in total), I was feeling better. I had taken ibuprofen and paracetamol before but didn't take any more after.
i had taken the day off and spent most of the afternoon on the sofa but that was more because i thought I'd earnt it than I actually needed it! I went with my brother to walk his dog in the afternoon no probs.

If you are driving home you might need to sit and chill for a bit after before getting in the car but if you have the same experience as I did, you should be fine to have a cup of tea and a biscuit or lunch, and then go back to work.

You will be fine without DH. Mine was almost as much use as a chocolate teapot; he was on a 5:2 fast day and nearly passed out while it was going on even though he was up by my head!! Good to have a driver though!

I had a HSG. I arranged to work at home for the day but in the event felt fine (just some very mild cramps) so it wasn't necessary.

I can't work from home but yes it went fine. I didn't find it painful really but I've had lots of colposcopys so used to the whole thing by now. Was actually shorter than a colposcopy. What shocked me the most was how emotional I felt afterwards and did sit and have a cry in the car park so you were right about sitting in the car!

Now back at work but someone is covering a meeting for me for an hour so I can sit quietly at my desk. Helps to work in a blokey department when they don't want to know about 'women's issues'.

Thanks for all the advice.
