Slowly starting to TTC, how likely is it to happen yet?

I have DC 1, 18 months (I got pregnant the first month trying) and DH and I would like one more DC. We have decided just to see what happens.
We have recently stopped using condoms, and he is pulling out instead for the next 6 months (until DC1 is 2), then if we are still not pregnant we will start trying properly then.

We would be delighted if we found out we were expecting now, but we don't want to "guarantee" having a baby instantly IYSWIM so are just giving it a slight chance and seeing what happens.
I was just wondering if we are likely to get pregnant any time soon, or is it fairly unlikely while he is pulling out?

If you'd be delighted then just to for it surely!

But on topic, I've used that as contraception for years. It's about 94% effective apparently. So relatively unlikely I think?

We can see up sides and down sides of having a bigger or smaller age gap, so we're wanting to just leave it to fate. Though it's sounding a lot more unlikely than we expected then! We thought it would be more around the 50/50 mark.

Why not toss a coin? If it's heads then condoms, tails then TTC. That's 50%.

It would be, but then it's still "decided" and we will probably be thinking that maybe we should be trying now if we end up waiting, or that maybe we should leave a slightly bigger gap if we are properly trying and likely to get pregnant very quickly.
DH has fallen asleep now, but I think I will suggest once or twice without condoms per month then pulling out the rest of the time. The idea is to stop it being a definite decision we have to make, to avoid us over thinking the positives or negatives of either age gap!

If you're keen now, start trying! Just because it was quick first time, may not be second time. This has happened to quite a few of my friends who thought they would have a 2 year gap and it's now looking like nearly 4. Went the other way for us, took a year the first time, and 1 month the second time so we had a smaller gap that originally wanted (but wouldn't change for world now!) Nature seems to have its own plan for gaps!
