how to get pregnant when sterilized

i read that you can still get pregnant whilst sterilized i was done in 2007 and had my left ovary and tube removed due to a cyst i just wondered how i can get pregnant would it be best to have a reversal or ivf or can i get pregnant still as i have seen people who have been steralized and have gotten pregnant after

I think youve posted in the wrong topic - you might want to ask MNHQ (via report function) to move this to "Conception"

The "fail" rate for female sterilisation is 1:200, but there is no predicting for whom it might fail. So yes, you need to investigate reversal (which is not normally available on NHS). The probable start point would be to see if your remaining ovary still looks as if it is functioning.

I know someone who had reversal after sterilisation.

I think you'll need to go and see your GP.

Reversals have a better success rate if your tubes were clipped rather the tied, but even then it works in only about 50% of the time. It's not often available on NHS, though.
