Recommendation for Fertility Clinic in London

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has had recent experience with fertility clinics in London. I've had one failed IUI (at Womens clinic), two failed IVF (at Create) and then two failed IVF's with donor eggs (at create). One of the donor egg cycles ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks.

I have exceptionally low egg reserve (undetectable). I am only 31 but have the AMH levels of a 45 year old. I've been told all along that my change of conceiving with my eggs is less than 5% but with donor eggs it is as high as 50%. We are using donor eggs now, but there just seems to be something else that is stopping the embro's/ blastocycts from sticking. They are always grade 1 and they say that my lining is great abut no-one seems to know why they don't seem to implant (and stick) in me.

We are thinking of changing clinics and getting another opinion but I would like a personal recommendation. Statistics can vary so much depending on how many patients the clinic actually treats and also the amount of lesbian and single women so it is really hard to judge a clinic on that these days.

What I am asking for is if anyone has had severe fertility issues and if they felt their clinic went above and beyond to try and figure out how to help them. I feel like we are stuck in a rut at Create and need to move on. Also we've funded everything so far so we are truly limited as to how much further we can go with this.

Any advice much appreciated!!!

I used the Bridge Clinic but as it never worked for me I'm not sure I'm a good advert. The doctors did seem to be well clued up though and they appear to take on more of the difficult cases than other clinics. Have you talked to your local NHS fertility clinic - it can work out more cheaply to go privately with the NHS (if you see what I mean) sometimes you will also qualify for free NHS drugs even if you don;t qualify for the IVF (tip given to me by a hospital pharmacist.

Thanks, good tip on the drugs! That was an unexpected addition!!! We chose to go private as we didn't want to wait and we also wanted more control over the treatment. We are going to talk to the GP though as we might have to.

Hi,

We've also had 4 rounds (own eggs-we are "unexplained") at Create. One ended in mc at 8 weeks. We have decided to move and like the look of CRGH. We went to an open day and had an initial consultation with a consultant there who we both liked, but have decided to take a few months off before cycling again. But I am pretty sure we will go there for cycle 5. I was very impressed by all the staff I met. The downside for me is that I get a bit freaked out by medical stuff and the clinic feels a lot more like a big hospital than Create (which is one of the reasons I chose the latter in the first place). Clinic choice is a very personal decision. E.g. I know some people swear by the IVF "bootcamp" approach of ARGC and the results are good, but all those tests and drugs would stress me hugely, so I wouldn't be suited to it. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks, I think that we are going to find good and bad points at all places and when the protocol has not changed despite so many failures, we are losing faith in Create. I think that we do want the more bootcamp approach now, Create were lovely but very laid back. I have been googling all day and I think that ARGC looks like the one for us. Especially with their results in older women which is how I think I should be treated. Good luck to you as well!!!!! (agree that the tests and drugs are awful - I am so over it!)
