PCOS diagnosis - what next?

I had an ultrasound today and I was told I do have cysts. I had a negative blood test a few weeks ago but I don't think this was at the start of my cycle.
I'm seeing the dr tomorrow and I want to have the best chances of ttc and start any drugs needed asap.
I found it hard to lose weight for my wedding earlier in the year despite lots of exercise and healthy diet so will ask about metformin. Does anyone have any tips? I'm being positive about the diagnosis but am impatiant and want to be proactive! Thanks

Hi, I was diagnosed with pcos about 6 months ago, after almost 2 years ttc. Have finished my first round of 50 clomid. AF due in a week. Even although you can be diagnosed with pcos it doesn't mean you aren't ovulating! That's what gyno told me. Anyway my partners semen is normal my tubes aren't blocked and womb looks ok. Blood tests show I ovulate some months, so they left the choice to me wether I wanted to start clomid which I decided to do.

I have also lost weight bmi about 22 now, so doc said that should help. Done this by weight training and clean eating, was actually quite simple.

Good luck.

I have pcos and it didn't interfere with conception at all, got preggers twice pretty easily. Think everyone is different, but having pcos certainly doesn't mean you are automatically at a disadvantage. My doc told me that if your periods are regular then you don't need to worry. Mine were and I didn't. Hopefully you will be the same.

I was diagnosed with PCOS at the end of November. All bloods are fine. The next steps for me were swabs and DH had to give a sample to check everything was fine. The results are back and all are ok so we have now been referred to the hospital as the GP can't do anymore. No idea what happens next....

I have namechanged but just want to update this thread. I was put on metformin in December and am due with DC1 in November! Just a couple of months on metformin did the trick for me. I realise I am very lucky and hope others have a similarly easy ride.
