Travelling during pregnancy

Hello to all,
I'm just getting into this whole baby thing. I'm just waiting for AF then DH and I are are going to start TTC for the first time.
What I could do with is some advice on travelling. I travel with my job (mainly long haul flights)and can be away from home for weeks at a time. I'm just worried how pregnancy will affect my job and I that may have to go on maternity leave alot earlier than usual. How do others cope with long haul flights and being away during pregancy?

I did a few long haul and lots of short haul. I just tried not to get too tired and stressed, rested as much as possible and tried to cut back if possible. Drink loads of water.

First trimester was the worst. Is there any way you can reduce the amount of travelling you do?

Hi...
As you may know already, airlines won't restrict your travelling until after 30 weeks (possibly 28 weeks if it's a charter). First and third trimesters can be rough, but during second trimester you normally feel great. Just don't overdo things.
Good luck getting preggers!

I did one LH in 1st trimester, then lots of SH. Didn't find it any problem, and did my last flight about 34/35 weeks, which was just a couple of weeks before DD arrived. I had a doctor's note, but didn't always have to use it!!
Colleagues abroad were absolutely lovely and terribly thoughtful when I was with them. Also, if you are able to sleep well in hotels, it can be very relaxing - a hearty buffet breakfast, ready-made beds, clean towels etc. Enjoy it.

Hmmm, never thought of it that way. I suppose being in a hotel with someone else doing all the work can be quite enjoyble. It's nice to hear that someone has completed a flight in week 34 or 35. I read another thread about difficulties travelling after week 28.
There's no chance of reducing the travelling I do though, so I guess I'll just have to get on with it.

Actually, think I may have exaggerated a bit. It was Portugal, just before the start of Euro 2004, so must have been about 32 weeks!
