Hi everyone,
I am new to this and TTC our first child.
I started using ovulation test sticks yesterday (day 12) Two out of 4 attempts had no line and two had very faint lines.
Am I doing something wrong or could i have faulty sticks?
Thanks

Hi missus, I'm also ttc #1 and have been using the test sticks for about 3 weeks now. Do you definitely have your cycle days correct? Now the reason I ask is because I stopped taking the pill in September and have been trying to work out my cycle which is a bit confusing. I thought I ovulated around 31st October because I had all the right symptoms but the sticks showed negative. I've continued with daily testing but got a positive Monday and Tuesday of this week which I wasn't expecting. Ovulation can happen at different times for different people, I'm no expert but there's plenty of useful info on here. I've found it useful to also monitor my cervical mucus and keep a diary but I'm also continuing with the sticks. I hope you get a positive soon Smile

Hi Rosie, my periods are regular & i was using a fertility app to chart my days. I am now getting the strong test line & the other line is very faint. I think you're right, ovulation is not like clock work and varies so I am hoping this weekend we'll get two strong lines.
Can I ask how long you have been trying for?

x

WHat type of CB test are you using? The normal ones or the advanced one? The reason I'm asking is because the advanced one has one line for oestrogen and one for LH, so there is no control line. If the LH line is weak, that means your LH is low. If your oestrogen line is weak, that means high oestrogen, which precedes the LH surge.

If it's the normal test, the control line should always be strong, unless it's faulty or it doesn't have enough or too much urine on it.

Well i think i missed my window by not being able to read my tests properly. I have now bought the CB smiley face for next month.

I never realised how complicataed this all was. x
