Started trying 2 months after mc and conceived in June 2010 and mc again at 12 weeks no dc. I have been ttc ever since and nothing cycle is normal no problems there have a cb fertility monitor so I know when I'm ovulating also do temp checks. I just don't know what to do next doc doesn't seem to be worried as I'm 23 but I just have a feeling that something should have happened by now. What's your advise ladies where would u go from here.

Hi Louisa

I would definitely advise going back to the GP and asking for a referral to see a specialist. You've been trying for over three years and, although your GP could well be right and there is nothing to worry about, it is best to get you and your DP checked over just to be sure. I'm 98% sure that the NICE guidance (Feb 2012) says that if you have TTC for a year you should be offered baseline investigations. Additionally as you are 23 you are eligible for investigations/treatment if appropriate.

In the first instance you should ask your GP for a referral. Whilst you are waiting for an appointment you should probably see if you can get some blood tests done between day 2 and 5 of your cycle (day 1 is the first full day of bleeding). These blood tests are LH, FSH, testosterone and oestradiol. I would suggest that, if you can get your GP to do them, that they are arranged before you see a specialist as these hormone levels can fluctuate. It may well be that a specialist will repeat them but it would be good to get some sort of "baseline".

If you want to tell me where you are in the country then I'll help you to source the local fertility policy for your area if you like. If you are in/around London then I'm more than happy to recommend a unit/units, but I'm afraid that my knowledge of specialists in other parts of the country are somewhat limited!

Good luck, please feel free to PM me if you want.
