Early periods - a sign of a problem?

I've been ttc dc2 for almost a year now and the lack of success is starting to really get me down. This month is particularly hard as it marks my last chance to give ds a sibling less than two years younger than him.

I'm trying to identify any underlying problems and one thing that concerns me is that my previously regular period has on three or four occasions turned up early. This time it was a full week early. Before ds they were like clockwork. Just after ds was born I had an implant put in for a few months, does anyone know if that could have any sort of impact?

Any advice or information gratefully received.

No comfort I'm afraid but I am also anxious, I had a mirena in for about 7 years with regular periods throughout on a roughly 30 day cycle. A couple of months before removal and in the couple of months since my cycle seems to be shortening (now 27 days and a couple of months ago was 25 days). I'm 35 and a bit nervous it could be perimenopause as we are TTC #1. Would also be very grateful to hear from people who know more.

Hi there. What matters is the luteal phase (the bit between ovulation and your period). This should be at least 10 days long, ideally 12-14 days. Any less and any fertilised egg has a much smaller chane of implanting in the womb (this usually takes 9-12 days after conception).

Since stopping the pill,my luteal phase has only been seven days so I know your pain. It can settle down itself but if not there are ways to sort it out.

I have made an appointment with my doctor as we are ttc (only 4 months) but my previously 28 day cycle 5 day period is now a 1 day period and at times a couple of days early. The early part doesn't worry me but the one day period is.
Im 35 soon and my age is starting to work me. The thought of early menopause is scary when we are ttc. The hope each month is that its implantation bleeding but the pregnancy test is always negative.
I also had a stabbing pain very low down the other morning which was a little strange. The doctor can not see me for a week, so its going to be a very long week.

Is there a history of early menopause in your family? If not I really wouldn't worry too much about the age thing. Worth getting the periods checked out though.

Mum had a full hysterectomy (sorry for spelling) at 40 as cancerous cells. To me its more the thought of not being able to have another baby rather than the possible problem it could be.
Daughter had Leukaemia at 3 so as a family we can tackle anything!
No point in worrying until I know why.
Strange thing tho is my periods have only changed since we have been ttc or have they? I suppose I just came on when I came on before and never really thought anything about it.
One day period is definitely something new tho.
