Cervical Ectropion/Erosion bleed every month before period

Hi, I'm new to all this but have been searching for hours for an answer and couldn't find one so thought I'd ask the questions myself!

I've been ttc for nearly two years, with a missed miscarriage six months in. It's now been over a year since that dreaded day and I am slowly going mad over why I now don't seem to be getting pregnant. I have been diagnosed with a Cervical Ectropion/Erosion and it seems that about 4/5 days before my period is due, I get some brown bleeding which is caused by this. What I want to know is, did anyone else have this sort of pattern and if so, did they have the same bleeding the month they got a BFP? I don't understand whether this brown bleeding before my period means it's definitely on its way or if it would still happen if I were pregnant. So in other words, i started bleeding today and I want to know if I should lose hope this month or not. Please help, I am having a really sad day today and would really appreciate any help/advice.

I did bleed before pregnancy.
For an unrelated medical reason it was a closely monitored pregnancy - having miscarriages before the bleeding shook me up a bit but actually was harmless.

Have recently just been diagnosed with a CE. GP said it could have been caused by long term use of the pill (I'd been on many different types of the pill for 5 years, with the implant and depo injections in between too) so kinda made sense. I can spot 7-9 days before AF, and it goes straight into AF so no let up for me! Also causes me spotting and pain during sex - not fun when ttc! Has anyone had any joy with having it cauterized? Haven't been on the pill for 9 months now (the irony) and still no BFP :( seriously doubting my ability to conceive naturally :(

I used to get a bit of spotting when I was on the pill and was sent for a colposcopy which was fine so I got on with it as thought it was a side effect. When I came off the pill to start ttc I noticed it it more and thought maybe it was my hormones settling back to normal. Spotting usually starts about 5 days before af is due and is normally just a hint of browny pink when I wipe. After a few months of not conceiving I became convinced there was a problem linked to the spotting and spent many times going to the Drs trying to convince them something was wrong with me, and an obscene amount of time researching what could be causing it. I thought I had low progesterone, a short luteal phase, was temping etc. after a year of trying when they would finally do tests it turned out DH had no sperm :0( all the tests they did for me hcg, blood tests all came back OK. We went ahead with an iui with donor sperm and it worked first time we now have a beautiful 21 month old daughter........and I spotted the month I conceived her. Was so sure it hadn't worked but it did. I guess what I'm trying to say but it is easier said than done is we should be a bit kinder to ourselves, looking back I was obsessed and miserable for a long time, but when u r in that place it is hard to get out of it. We have just had our first iui to try for a second child and it didn't work although didn't expect to be that lucky again! Spotting doesn't really bother me unless ttc as it really throws u off hoping it could be implantation etc its just another added symptom to overanalyse! Never have got to the bottom of the spotting, someone mentioned at a smear that I had an etropoion so in my head I put it down to that, but have come to accept that maybe it is just 'normal' for me xxxx

I also have cervical ectropion and spot from around day 18 we have been TTC for 20 months and every month the spotting drives me mad. My GP has said that it's nothing to worry about and that it should not affect my ability to conceive in fact it normally occurs after a vaginal birth. She also offered to have it cauterized but I read that that can effect the production of CM which could effect fertility so I've decided to just leave it as it is. I'm afraid that I'm not that much helps except to say that your not alone in the CE spotting. xxx

Does anyone know what day they ovulate though? Swear since I've found out I've had a CE, I havent had anything to suggest I'm ovulating! So frustrating!

wow I could have written this! it's interesting to see some other girls who have the same spotting issues as me! going to start TTC in December but I've started charting and I've been to see the GP because for years I've had 6-10 days of spotting before What I would count as my true 3 day period, 10- 13 days of bleeding every month is not fun! None of my smear nurses have mentioned ectroprion or anything?! but then not had a smear in a while. I've just recently have an ultrasound which showed policystic ovaries but my bloods were all normal and I'm a healthy weight - it's not a PCOS thing is it? whats gotten me reeeeally confused is that this month my spotting is about 5 days late, wonder if that will render my leriod late too?? highly unusual! even POAS because we dtd using withdrawal method on CD10. BFN so far! also had 7 days of EWCM this month, that's weird is it not?

Hi ladies I'm glad this post has been revived. Some very helpful info from others thank you! I still haven't conceived since last posting, still suffering now with a partial CE and brown spotting up to 10 days before actual AF! I'm currently being tested for secondary infertility! Had bloods taken, a hysterosalpingogram and the hubby's had a sperm test all which I should be getting results for soon! But I have other symptoms, which I have checked against and they match those of endometriosis. has any one else been diagnosed or have similar symptoms to those of endometriosis along with the spotting? Any info would be very helpful?.... BABY DUST TO ALL xxx
