Okay - I really really appreciate your advice & pointers. I feel bad asking such a wide question...

But I'm not getting pregnant so what should I do? I have an amazing six year old child so I know I am blessed and I feel guilty for asking how to conceive when I know some people are struggling for the first time.

I'm 41 - we've been trying for ages and ages to get number two..we have never used contraception...we just rarely had sex :-(

So I'm trying to have sex every two days 10-20 days after my period:; and I've got his and hers conception vitamin supplements.

Is there anything else I can do? I'm thinking about booking a visit to GP, and I've also seen very very expensive acupuncture etc advertised....

Friends have Told me to have sex every 2 days regardless of point in cycle, and also spend (small) savings on a round of ivf...but the latter seems a stab in the dark.

What should my next steps be?

I really appreciate your advice - (yes can u tell I just POAS this morning....)

See doctor as you have been trying ages, they may run tests.

use a clear blue fertility monitor to make sure you are having sex at the right time. How regular is your cycle?

wishing you all the best.

How long is your cycle? Day 10 might be a bit late to start if you have a short cycle?
Definitely see GP, at your age you can have tests after only 6 months trying.

Do not waste your money on acupuncture in case you need that money for fertility treatments - scientifically proven things that help.

If you're having sex every other day from day 10-20 then you are having enough sex. If you're using ovulation sticks then that will give you a better idea of when you're ovulating.

A low carb, high protein diet is recommended to improve egg quality, not sure if it's scientifically proven but it's the advice given to women going through ivf.

My experience of acupuncture is very positive. I used it to help morning sickness with my first pregnancy and got pregnant the first month of using it after 11 failed cycles without it.

It might be worth getting in touch with an ivf clinic to understand what your options are, costs etc.

Good luck!

start earlier, you could ovulate on day 9/10 depending on your cycle length, so you could be missing the window of opportunity. try and hav sex every 2-3 days as soon as your period is finished.
