A dad's view on conception

Hi all,

I'm pretty new here. My partner and I have a 9 month old baby girl. I've recently started in the world of dad blogging and I have written a post on conception and getting pregnant from the dad's perspective called "How we got pregnant – graphs, thermometers and peeing on sticks". I hope some people find this entertaining and maybe enlightening. I'd welcome any comments as I've never really written before other than GCSE English essays and reports for work!

Thanks all. Please be kind :-)

You're writing is fine, but I thought I'd read more about your thoughts and feelings and not just observations of what your wife was going through. You obviously went at it full on from the beginning, but many women start of with the 'lets shag as much as possible' approach and then only start to help themselves with charting etc when they feel time is going on and they still aren't pregnant.
I don't think there any many women who would go to the lengths Charlotte did for their first child on the first cycle of trying. Some women (like me) don't tell my partner when I have a smiley face or when I have cm or actually when I do pregnancy test when it's negative.....because I for one don't want bonking me to become a chore or a job.

That should be 'your writing is fine' btw.

Thanks for the feedback :)

I'm still learning and finding my style as I've not really written before. I see what you mean about thoughts and feelings etc so I'll take that on board for next time.

We're both quite similar (Charlotte and I) so we were both interested in the science behind it all but I do agree that most wouldn't go as far as we did!

Keep writing. I will read. Pictures would make it more interesting too.

I've really enjoyed reading your blog, me and my partner are thinking of starting a family, but I worry what he really thinks about it all, and being a very organised household, we may come across similar situations! Keep writing!
