Superdrug digital pregnancy test- faint positive?

Hi, I'm Laura.

I just did a Superdrug digital pregnancy test, got a 'not pregnant' and ejected the cartridge, but there are two lines on the revealed strip. This is NOT taking apart a digital test, and the instructions say nothing about being cautious if you see two lines or anything like that. Anyone got any experience?

Do another test!

lmlosborne · 25/09/2013 17:19

I'm worried about wasting them and money too :/

Do a search online - I'm sure there was a thread about this a few weeks ago. Are you late?

lmlosborne · 25/09/2013 17:35

I am late, and TTC, which I know can make people stupidly hopeful!

I found a thread on it, but no outcome to help me.

I think it could be the evaporation lines, but you know what they say, if AF hasn't arrived you still have hope. If you don't want to waste money, wait another 2 days, test with morning urine and just buy a non-digital one. I've heard asda ones are good and cheap.
Wishing you lots of luck x

Thank you =) Appreciate the input

I'll watch the thread. Come back and tell us the news....

Bangonthedoor · 25/09/2013 19:46

Yes i agree def use a non digital one to save the confusion. Even the poundshop ones work perfectly fine! Good luck! Im eager to hear!

lmlosborne · 26/09/2013 15:47

Thanks guys =) You're the first forum I've tried and it's nice to get such a warm sense of help. I'm going to give the non-digital test a couple of days, maybe until after the weekend to get the best result possible.

Unless the instructions say you can take the cartridge out if you don't get the result you want, then the result is more than likely correct the first time. If it was more accurate taking the cartridge out, why bother with it in in the first place then for the test?

Good luck however, and doing another test may make your mind at ease with any result.

lmlosborne · 29/09/2013 16:01

You take it out because the digital part is reusable and you throw the cartridge away- it's a 2 pack with two cartridge and one reusable digital body, no way to remove the cartridges without seeing the lines. I didn't do it in some desperate act or for a laugh.

But pound land cheapies they r as reliable and u won't worry about wasting money so much

cookielove · 29/09/2013 22:05

Oh sorry to burst your bubble this happened to me with a sainsburys digi. It is still a negative. Wait a few more days then test again.

nappyaddict · 30/09/2013 15:07

Have a look at this

lmlosborne · 30/09/2013 16:22

Sorry, link doesn't work, but I know the jist of what you're linking me to. This isn't the same as taking the test apart. HOWEVER, I know what you're getting at.

OP posts:
allchatnicknamesgone · 30/09/2013 17:23

The link did work for me and it wasn't that Imlosborne.
Anyhow, did you do another test today? Was it good news?

lmlosborne · 30/09/2013 20:11

When I go to the page, I get zero text- just a header and a drop down language box.

I did a non-digital test that seems to have a faint line. Problem is, I have zero way to tell what is going on with my body with no period since August 17th but constantly negative tests :/

Some chemists do a very cheap test if you take in a urine sample. Might be worth a go if you don't want to buy another kit?
Good luck!

lmlosborne · 30/09/2013 20:42

Thanks for the ideas and good luck =)

Any faint line is positive. Post in online and ask if other people can see it.... That is if you want second opinions. You could just book appointment with docs and ask them to do it. Cheapest way! X

nappyaddict · 02/10/2013 14:27

If you got a line on a non-digital one I would say you are pregnant. You can get a bloodtest to confirm if you are only getting very faint ones and also some negatives.

I know it's not the same as taking a digital test apart but digital ones and non-digital ones work differently. A digital pregnancy test, tests for BhCG as well as normal HCG. BhCG is something that is always in your system. The faint line you are seeing will be from BhCG. Do Superdrug tests have 2 or 3 lines?

With the one I used (can't remember what brand) there was a low sensitivity strip with 1 line which tests for BhCG. If you are not pregnant this will be faint and the sensor won't detect it, if you are pregnant it will be dark enough for the sensor to read it as BhCG rises when you are pregnant.

There was also a high sensitivity strip with 2 lines. The control line is dark and if you are pregnant the test line will be as dark or darker than the control line. If this is the case then the sensor will detect this and say you are pregnant.
