Should I see a doctor for a very early MC?

I think I might be having a very early MC. We are TTC, I had my period two weeks ago and normally I have a very regular 29 day cycle with a very light 3 day period, however this time I am bleeding two weeks early, relatively heavy and it's been going on for 6 days.

Should I be seeing a doctor? My impression is that there isn't much they can do anyway, so no point in taking up their time (we're also on holiday which would complicate matters, but back home on Sunday).

Hi BooBoo,

I'm really sorry for what's going on and hope it's a blip in your pregnancy.

I have just had my first MC at 5 and a half weeks. I recieved some really good advice from MNers about letting the doctor know. If you're unfortunate enough to go onto have subsequent miscarriages they will not start testing for problems until you have had your third, if you don't inform the doctor now you could be onto your fourth MC before they even look into it. (I really hope that won't happen but it's just taking precautions)

I hope everything pans out Smile

Try to enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Hey. I'm really sorry to hear this Sad. Did you get a positive pg test? Just if your period was only two weeks ago and you have a 29-day cycle, you shouldn't be much past ovulation yet Hmm. You can only really mc if the embryo has implanted and maybe I'm reading this wrong, but I think you're a bit early for that. I'd go and see your GP re mid-cycle bleeding if I were you.

What OP thought was her period two weeks ago could have been implantation bleeding and perhaps that is why she thinks she may be having a miscarriage. This happened to me once when I wasn't ttc, although as I had never tested for pregnancy I will never know. really any unusual bleeding between your periods is something that you should at least mention to your doctors, but unfortunately they probably won't be able to tell you if you were in fact pregnant or not as a test would probably be reading negative by now.

I am sorry to hear that KitchenWasel and thank you for the advice.

Thank you RaRaZ and KatAndKit. No positive pregnancy test, I didn't think I was pregnant so maybe it's not an MC at all. I will go to see my doc as soon as we get back - it doesn't feel like an emergency I should be rushing to a different doc here for. DP thinks I should be taking it more seriously, am I being stupid? If it's an MC there is nothing they can do about it, if it's something else then it's not an emergency.

I think you're being sensible enough as long as you feel ok in yourself. If the bleeding gets really bad, you're feeling sick/dizzy/faint with the pain, I'd get checked out where you are even if that means going to ED, but if you're feeling ok and the bleeding is manageable, I'd probably be inclined to wait until you get home too.

I have an appointment for Monday morning at home. The bleeding is like my periods, medium to light flow, and I feel fine (other than the headache from the screaming toddler who's just been through her first time out for hitting and kicking me!!!). Thank you for your help.
